Re: Flooding
My father is in Quechee and between their bridge and Woodstock's, has to drive out over the mountains. Luckily he has 4 wheel drive.
Look at this pic of the bridge http://www.flickr.com/photos/llewellynt ... hotostream" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Then watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxx16TPR ... e=youtu.be" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Flooding
That is amazing.
I don't even want to think about what would have happened if we had gotten the rain they did. We've had half the road wash out before with a lot less rain....

Re: Flooding
Southern and Central Vermont got hammered. On FB there is a site that a local photographer is posting photos. A natural funnel for the storm.
Here is my favorite video to come out of it. It shows that old tech still is the best.

Re: Flooding
I was visiitng my parents near Albany in late August, and we stopped to take some photos of the Cohoes Falls, where the Mohawk River starts to join the Hudson River. Compare that picture with the Youtube video of those same falls after Hurricane irene a few days later. Incredible, and scary.
