Re: Benchmarks "Brag" thread
New Computer as of a week ago, whoa boy are those BenchMark settings taxing on it!
Looking for a GTX 460 right now to replace the GT 240 so it should be interesting to see the difference once I get one. And later this year or next I'll get a good Core 2 Quad, but the Core 2 Duo 3.33 is good enough for now as only a small percentage of games utilize all 4 cores of the Quads right now. Of course BFBC2 has to be one of the games that takes advantage of the 4 cores (one of the main reasons for getting a new computer).
And I might try overclocking the cpu, I've read that the E8600 is amazing for that. Can go up to 3.8 - 4.0 no problem on a air alone (Aftermarket HS) and not messing with the Voltages either. Never OC'ed before but there's no use in doing it till I get a new Vid. Card to take away some bottle necking.

Re: Benchmarks "Brag" thread
Badge,
Change the Anisotropy to x16 and the AA to x8 then do it again. Mike did these settings in his first example so in order to all get an even score basis all settings must be equal (except your screen size). That way we can get a sort of estimate as to how all our computers stack up to each other.
Cheers

Cowhide, Is this better? You know I can't believe we are doing this just so Mike can make fun of the size of our hardware. It seems unmanly.

Re: Benchmarks "Brag" thread
Just got a new MSI GTX 460 Cyclone OC vid. card and redid the benchmark:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... -_-Product
Heaven Benchmark v2.5 Basic
FPS: 36.7
Scores: 925
Min FPS: 8.2
Max FPS: 77.3
Hardware
Binary: Windows 32bit Visual C++ 1600 Release Mar 1 2011
Operating system: Windows 7 (build 7601, Service Pack 1) 64bit

So I went from a score of 190 to 925, FPS 7.6 to 36.7 so that's a pretty big leap.
