Help!!

Post by [JiF]zougathefist »

Hi I need some assistance

I want to install my BF on a new comp but cannot find the booklet so I don't have any of the codes - is there any way I can find/get the codes from my current install on my other computer - or is it possible to get BF on steam?

Urgent assistance would be mucho appreciated

Your CD keys are located in the registry on your PC.
When i get home today i will post where you can find them.
I have several copies of the game and have changed the key in registry without a new install.

Hi guys thanks for the help!

I actually found a website called Serials.be which has CD keys posted by users/game owners - managed to get codes that work from there.

Am in Brussels at the moment, marathon journey on Eurostar yesterday night got to my hotel at 1.30am and had meeting at 10am!

Drinks reception tonight then a bar then some BF methinks :viva:

catch ya later

If you still have your old PC you can read the install key directly out of the registry.
In Win XP it would be in :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\ergc
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII\ergc
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 The Road to Rome\ergc

In Vista or Win 7 (64) it would be in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\ergc
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII\ergc
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 The Road to Rome\ergc

Thanks for posting this Badger.
If anyone buys a new copy of the game and wants to use the CD key then just delete the old and add the new.
No need to reinstall the whole game again.
