Game Freezes (Multiplayer)

There we go again.
It seems like this Game doesnt like me.

When i start Bf1942 and click on Mulitplayer and then Internet it freezes.
I didnt change a thing on my laptop since my last session.

Any Ideas?

Hi Der Hesse , this has just started happening to me today , I didn't change anything on my PC althought the latest Win 7 updates got loaded so I have been trying to revert to previous configurations with no success so far

Ok I have figured out a temporary workaround for this.

Start the game
Select internet
then select add server

type in server ip and port number
so for JiF its:
192.12.119.204 14567

I'm going to connect now try it and I'll see you in game.

Twilight zone? I got the EXACT same problem NOW, clicking on the "Internet"-button then the program(BF1942) Freeeeeeze. Oh my god

When you go into bf1942 do not use your custom profile but choose the default profile , then hit multiplayer then internet then add server do not hit the update button.
I have just played a round of husky so I know that the workaround works.

Happened to me for not-so-long ago. I just took a re-install.

I verified your workaround Shell, it worked for me. I also got hte freeze when trying to select my [JiF]rix-profile.

When BF 42 encounters problems and you have to stop the bf 42 process then some of the BF42 files get screwed up. These files are mainly the profile files. What I do is delete the custom profile folder in the EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\profiles path. This means that when I go into BF 42 I have to create my custom profile all over again (name , controls buddy list etc) but at least it helps to get BF up and running again.

Damn, thought i alone had this problem. Should have looked into the Forums first. Have already uninstalled.

I cant use the workaround because it freezes even with the default profile.
Whatever i do, it still freezes when i hit the internet-button.

Der hesse , If you delete the custom folder in the path that I desribed earlier then create a new custom profile you should be ok. Of course you will have to setup all your controls etc all over again
