Where would one find old systems?

I know many of you are around the New England area so some of you could help me but those of you that aren't, I can trail the web as well.

I'm curious to know any places that sell old video game consoles: Good pawn shops, flea markets, etc. I know theres a big one near Quincy if I recall correctly. I recently brought my old Nintendo back to my dorm (that thing rocks) and we play on that more than we do on our PC's. Unfortunately, it is quite the difficult being to get a game working and probably could be replaced by another cheap used one that is better condition.

Probably yard sales or you could try Game Stop stores.
You may want look into MAME
Also a year or 2 ago I bought one of those consoles that look like a Atari 2600 for a Xmas gift, it actually has a ton of old games on it.

My son still uses my old Colecovision, I think I have around 70 to 80 cartridges for it

try flea markets and tag sales this spring... problem with checking tthe web (ie ebay and craigslist is that those people think it's valuable and tag sales/flea markets... sometimes they don't even know what it is so you can get stuff for like $5

Yeah, my friend told me how he bought one at the Quincy flea market and got a system (Nintendo), 4 controllers, a couple of popular games for like only $20. Good deal if you ask me.

Which also reminds me.. has anyone tried opening up a Nintendo game and replacing the battery that's in there so you can save games again?

Dont buy another console that'll work just as bad, pick up a new 72pin connector off ebay for like 5 bucks, it's all you need. Or, Kmart/etc sell 3rd party top loading nintendo systems now (patents expired)..

I'll have to call a buddy of mine but there is a site that he goes to and you buy any old console that was ever made along with games and controllers. He had said there was a company that was making the old consoles new as in buying a new 360 type of new. He got me a new Atari 2600 console and controllers for I think it was around $50.

my buddies thought about building on of these years ago but never did... evidently you can download most of the eproms from old cartridge games then run through an emulator program and set up a menu, build arcade controls... pretty slick
