From what my brother has told me (sometimes unreliable source), evidently the director was given a percentage of ticket sales but not of DVD or download sales which he is arguing was part of the contract, i don't know about merchandising. But he also was willing to do the hobbit, the lawyers from the studio and his production firm (everyone has their own production firm now) decided it was not good to sign another contract with this hing still being fought out.

Yep, that is Peter Jackson after some severe weight loss. Found it interesting the difference in his face...

Haha. Wow. I knew what Peter Jackson looked like but it didn't cross my mind at all. He looks a lot like one of my professors (the first person that came to mind, heh)
