I also posted some footage on youtube. If you've never seen someone rip their strings off their guitar, watch this till the end.

seadogs is the name of our local footy team and dim.dom came around from a slight overdose of VB programming for coursework, where I had about 20 variables all declared in the form

dim variable as data type.

=) geeky, but I like it.

Ok,
I know you all want to know the genesis of the Winky so here it goes-

Back in 2001, when BF42 was first released, I was outta my head that finally here was a game that I could do what I had always want to- get in trucks, tanks, planes and shoot people, real people, on line in a WWII simulation!
You didn’t need a monster PC to run it then either. I went to my first LAN party a year later and man, I was hooked!
At the time I went by Angry Kitty. I had a cat in those days that was half psycho! He would get into other cat’s faces and just battle! He also tended to rip up your arms when you played with him. Many a time he came home the victor out in our neighborhood, although I spent more money on that cat’s vet bills than I would like to say ( it was over 1,500.00 dollars during his life…) for ripped up face, body, stitches, etc. due to his crazy ways. He was a scrapper for sure.
He also had some anger issues, although my wife says he got them from me I think they were there before I ever got involved.
He would go hunting and bring in the usual stuff- birds, mice, gofers but one day we came home and he had a big ass squirrel at the front door and was waiting to show us! A very happy kitty for sure, a REAL Killer!
I got to the point after playing for awhile that I went on to be a clan hunter and really practiced the close in battle that they tended to do and got to be fairly good at that type of combat. I went looking for clan guys to shame them whenever I could. Clans, I HATED them!
Angry Kitty had been used for about three years and it was time to update. I Landed on the JiF server one day and thought “hey these guys are kinda cool” and stuck around for a little while. I wanted to go kinda stealth with my previous experience and started to think of a name. At the time I often battled against [JiF]Waterboy and we had some fun for sure. He was as good as Gib with the planes and drove me crazy when he flew.
I wanted something kinda funny, stupid and lacking any message of a serious hunter/killer that may be behind the name.
One day a guy was on and kept calling for a player named “Winky” to save him, meet him here or there and generally became a nuisance on line in the game.
I thought that was a great “stupid” name! Funny sounding too-
I then added the punch line “DeathKill” to make the whole thing sound just ridiculous and non-threatening, noob-like. Who would ever be worried over a guy named “ WinkyDeathKill”?
Ya sure pal, a real killer! LoL…..
Older Jif’ers know that I changed my name a lot for awhile to put some fun into the whole thing as well before I became a member.
Some that I can remember are:
AWinkyChristmas
Winkenator
WinKster
[WiF]WinkyDeathKill ( this was to mock, in a humorous way, the JiF guys I played against at the time…)

I think there were more but I can’t remember them now. I was asked several times to join but didn’t want to be a “clan” guy.
After while I finally gave in and that was in 2006-7 I think. Best on line decision I ever made. It has been a hoot to be a member and those that have joined have lived up to the tag line “Just in Fun” for sure.
So all you know now the story of the Winky-

Amazing isn’t it?
The Winky

Funny but I always get this desire to play with a different name when I come home after a very heavy session.
It then takes me 10 minutes to get my brain straight enough to agree a name with myself

I can't recall exactly how or why my nephews and nieces started calling me Uncle Stinky. Probably we were joking about farting, and I let a real beaut loose.

One Thanksgiving my brother was here with his six kids, and they started again with the Uncle Stinky stuff, and soon we started a conga line with me at the head and six little kids behind me (they didn't realize the danger), singing, "Un-cle, Un-cle Stinkeeeee! Un-cle, Un-cle Stinkeeeee!..."
