Everyday the BBC puts a QI fact of the day on its homepage,
fo those who don't know QI (Quite Interesting) is a TV quiz show in the UK where you get points for knowing something interesting about the topic of the questions asked, each series deals with one letter of thh alphabet so there are loads of shows

Anyway, many of the facts of the day are banal or not especially interesting (imho) but today's made me smile so much I had to share it -

Torschlusspanik is a German word meaning 'the fear of diminishing opportunities as one grows older'
