My Windows 7 random crashes are gone

I used to get random crashes for various reasons after upgrading to Windows 7 (though fewer han when I ran Vista). After reading through some posts here, I did a few things that seem to have eliminated the crashes. They were both listed by Badger, so all props to him. They were (as written by Badger):

Summary:

For BF1942
1) Run as Administrator
2) Compatibility mode: Windows XP SP3
3) Set PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe to Run as Administrator and to Windows 98/Me compatibility mode (the files are in C/windows/syswow64).

In my case, I had BF1942 compatibility set for XP SP 2 instead of SP 3. Plus, I don't believe I had modified the Punkbuster files in C/Windows. I played for several hours yesterday and had NO crashes, so it looks like this did the trick.

I'm putting this in a separate thread in case someone else is having the same issues and doesn't read Badger's post below.
