Anybody have any experience with this? I tried the demo and like moving my little British units around the battlefield, but I really am not interested in all the strategic stuff and empire building stuff. Can you just fight battles in single player mode? If not, is there a comparable game that does that with late 1700's or early 1800's armies? (Said another way, I'm more interested in tactical than strategic level thinking.
Thanks,
Tissue

Re: Empire Total War
I think you have to do the strategic stuff as well.
If you are willing to push your time horizon up a bit, Mad Minute did some good games on First and Second Bull Run. I see you can get copies of them for $9 each on Amazon.

There's a game called Horse and Musket that covers battles of Freddie the Great. The graphics aren't state of the art, but game play is supposedly good. However, it is not real time lilke E:TW is; I'm pretty sure it is turn based.

Then there are all the games John Tiller has done, also turn based and also not very flash in terms of graphics. Check out Tiller's home page. As you can see, the guy is quite prolific.

And also that of HPS sims, which sells his games.
