Slooooooooow download speed

Post by Gnome-father »

I was visiting my grandma and grandpa and they bought a new computer so i can use the old one. (A laptop from 2006) bf1942 runs smoothly and i wanted to download the BG42 because this laptop have more memory then my computer at home. When i was downloading it, it says: 50kb/s time left when finished: 3 days. 3 days?! I was only going to be at grandpa and grandma for 1 day! I am home now. I only wonder: is it possible to increase the download speed? If you know that, please post it here at this topic.

Hi Gnome, I use a free download accelerator called Flashget just google for Flashget download. It's easy to install and works a treat for me.

- Shell :)

I downloaded it at work and put it on a flash drive last time I got it. If you have one maybe download it at home and take it over.
Can't remember if it fits on a DVD or not for sure, but I think it does.

No i hav...no, yes! I can try shells Flashget first and use your cd burn method as a plan C if the download speed dosent increase much. I have only 1,5 GB left so i have to download part 1, burn it on CD. Delete part 1 and download part 2. And you know the rest...

Ok, the connection speed is 54.0 mbps! so why dosent the flashget thing increase the speed? I tried a program calle internet download manager. Increased with 100 kb/s, but this only happends in rare moments. but the connecting speed is 54 mbps, that means that download should go smoothly. What the heck is wrong???
