Everyone is ok, hell of a way to end the year.
I was taking my step son and a few of his friends to see Avatar in Imax 3D. We didn't even make it out of town! Someone ran a stop sign at a pretty fast rate of speed, and was in front of me before I could do anything. I pretty much saw them coming a lil before their stop sign as I entered the intersection, realized they weren't stopping, and then they were in front of me. Next thing I remember was the air bag deflating in front me.... it all happened so fast!! So happy everyone had seat belts on. My step son had some back pain and was transported via ambulance to the ER. They did x-rays and checked him out and thankfully it just looks like muscle strain. His friends and I walked away, we're pretty sore but dealing with it. This happened last night at about 7:30pm and we believe my car is totaled. The other car was a Toyota FJ Cruiser and had pretty minor damage by comparison. She stopped roughly 100ft away from the intersection, speed limit was 30. I've been on the phone a lot with the insurance company today. Not sure what's gonna happen, I'm just hopeful they'll just pay the car off and I'll go get a new one. We looked at a Toyota Camry today.
Happy New Year! lol

That sure is a hell of an ending to the year. That could have had a much more frightening outcome, Glad everyone is ok. Is the driver of the Toyota going to be charged for reckless driving or anything?

Wow!
Thank god everyone is Ok & the only thing really damaged is the car.
Just shows the benefits of making sure everyone is belted up properly!
I hope the situation is resolved in your favour very quickly. I know in the UK dealing with insurance claims can be long drawn out affairs.

Re: 70 Mage
Glad everyone was okay and were able to walk away from the accident! If
On a side note, my sister in law was nearly T-boned in her Pontiac Vibe. A kid with a suspended license ran the red light and hit her. She's okay, but the air bags deployed and she was knocked a little silly, seeing stars and a bit groggy. Well the car is equipped with OnStar and when air bags deploy they notify police and it has two way communications via the car speakers for the people in the car. The OnStar operator begins talking to her, asking her if she's alright, saying emergency has been contacted, etc... The funny thing was, she didn't realize it was Onstar and thought it was God talking to her!!!

You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Glad everyone is ok.
Side note: and everyone wonders why I wont own a car and my trucks all have 33x12.50 and larger tires on then and some even have lift kits and 500 lb bumpers. My 98 Dodge Ram 1500 is the smallest truck I have right now with no lift and 31x12.50s but at the end of the month it gets the new 6" lift kit and 38.5x12.50s on it.

You must be young and stupid before you can be old and wise.

This was against an SUV. Cars have come a long way. The size of your vehicle does not mean you are safer in a crash. In fact if we had been in my truck this could have been much worse for all parties involved...especially the SUV!! lol

Re: 70 Mage
Went to look at some cars today. Really like the 2010 Ford Fusion! I'm so hopeful everything works out with the insurance...starting to worry about it, but will know a lot more once we get a copy of the police report. Hope she got a ticket for running a stop sign!
Re: 70 Mage
Good to see you guys survived with a few just minor aches and pains.
I did see a few crazy drivers out this weekend and almost got sideswiped by a guy talking on his cell phone.
He entered the freeway and kept coming over several lanes.

Just heard from the theater and they will reissue our tickets when we go again. Maybe we'll get to see Avatar in IMax 3D afterall! lol I'm hopeful more good news from the insurance company will follow!
