Re: New Build
I went ahead and jumped at making my very first build too :
EVGA P55 SLI motherboard
Intel i5 750 CPU
G.Skill DDR3 1600 RAM 8 GIG
Thermaltake Silent 1156 CPU cooler
2 Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
2 SAMSUNG DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223L LightScribe
2 MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv4 GeForce GTX 260 in SLI configuration
Rosewill Xtreme Series RX850-S-B PSU
Antec Nine Hundred Two Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Love it. Went for that as I want to experiment OCing and these components will let me do it at my own rythm without undue pain and swearing !
Oh, and Zouga, it all cost me 1600$CDN for what was approximately 3800$US for an equivalent ready built

Re: New Build
$1600CDN is approx £950 - bit more than I planned buy it could be that I can source the parts cheaper...

@Sir Die
Is all that so you can max out ARMA?
Nice system... didn't it scare you a little bit to experiment with $1600.00 worth of parts?

I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly".
That way everyone in the country can get wasted drinking Responsibly.
And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink Responsibly".
Probably will annoy the government as well.

Re: New Build
Nah, I have good back up at Z for the technical part of goofing up ! I'va already RMAed 2 mobo, the initial ASRock P55 that when sour during a BIOS flash and my current EVGA which has non working rear plugs for sound. But, I'm learning a lot and taking small steps as to ensure I do not wreck anything.
And it was partly for ArmA and also for BFBC2 and upcoming other Battlefield titles. I'm happy that I'll be able to keep off updating for a few years now.

Re: New Build
Nice system. Now just don't let any of those feministas tease you about 'compensating' - even if you are.
