Is CCM still up to date????
for the last few month CCM has just been awfull, i personaly do enjoy a couple of the maps, but they are only fun wwith around 8 players on. and when u look at gamtracker it clearly shows that we do not gt over 4-5 people plying at the same time on cmm. i did just pass on playing mondays for the last couple of month because i do not enjoy playing with 3 people. tonight there are 2 players on(oddball and another guy) and pop51 is playing bg42 as it seems that he does not enjoy playing with only 3 people(and i fully understand that). from what i see on all the other days(we mostly get 4-6 jiffers on at the same time) allot of us are skipping the monday ngihts now, so i m asking myself about the point of cmm??? it used to be supposed to have the creme de la creme of jiff and reglars enjoying some great games on new maps and now its 2-4 guys just running around without having much fun. so i personaly think it would be better to maybe drop the cmm and change it to something that bring lots of players to the server.
i know the following idea will probably sound stupid to lots of people but i believe that with a vanila monday we would get lots of new people coming over(look at moongamers, netorn and so on theys play vanila only and get loads of people). Vanila would attract lots of players because it seems that many people only own the vanila.
i also believe that in times like now where bf1942 is losing allot of players and many servers are just running out of business it would be great to get new players and winter seems to be the good time to do so, that way new players will enjoy the monday and come back on tuesday, that way we could raise our the amount of people playing on the server.
we still can play custom mapos on our extra server every once in a while maybe with a pop up message telling the players to drop by our website and register for a custom map saturday with lots of jiffers or register for a monthly tournament.
allot of players do not have clans but would still like to take part in tournaments and i believe that jiff can give that to them those people would just need ts and they would be good to go to take part in lil torunaments on custom maps or just on vanily, SW, RtR maps.
i would like evryone to give us some feed back on that, Jiffers and server regulars

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
The CMM maps are looking very tired if we retain CMM let's at least get some better maps installed. There is a thread about this , Zouga and myself have found some good maps.
Re: Is CCM still up to date????
Maybe we should thin out the maps we have and put in coop maps of the good ones.
There are a lot of good maps out there, but are we going too far with so many downloads?
I personally like to play Stonehenge and Hop maps but really don't care for some of the bigger maps.
Better yet, maybe we should have only smaller maps in rotation.

I love the CMM but due to lack of ppl it's not that fun. Maybe we could skip CMM and put those maps(and/or other custom maps) in training server rotation?
Good that you brought this up Frenchy.

I do love CMM, but it's true that it's just not fun with only 4-6 people on, especially on those giant maps.
I am liking the Monday being Tourny day, if nothing else to keep it different and fresh. I dunno

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
I feel that CMM seems to have run it's course & it is time to put the server back to running the same rotation every day.
I say this as I would prefer the server to be running the coop rotation during US early hours. This is when there are few people about, but the few do get to game together with the bots for company, rather than they go off to find a more populated server.
The way it runs at the minute, I play the Omaha map on my own & then leave as I don't want to run it again.

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
I'm glad this topic came up as I was going to post on it myself so Frenchy has saved me the trouble.
I went to play some BF last night but, like the proverbial Mother Hubbard, when I got there the cupboard was bare. On a Tues or Wed night I would confidently expect to find 10-12 people playing at least. IMHO we should institute a temporary suspension of CMM until the new year, I get the feeling that the novelty has worn off somewhat
My reasons are thus:
~CMM player numbers are down, whilst overall numbers are up
~Some of the maps are stale, there are a number of alternatives that we should consider
~It frees up a night where we can play the upcoming matches
~We could use mondays for the theme nights I suggested elsewhere (on a side note; these could include BIG map night {Philly, Aberdeen, EL Al} and Small map night, Infy Night, Tank night, CTF night....ad infinitum)
Also once we have run our Winter Internationals we may be able to recruit a new crop of people into CMM, and if my memory serves we brought it in when the overall server population began to fall last spring/summer.

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
Lol also been wanting to bring this up. CMM has run it's course, and served it's purpose very well I might add, but it's time to move on.
What about running BG maps on Pot Luck on Mondays instead of custom maps?
Instead of CMM we call it BGM, which still ryhmes but sounds less like a tv news channel
It'll be great to have a bunch of Jiffers playing the mod on Mondays, alongside some regulars, as attendance on the BG server itself is pretty scattered.

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
Great idea WT BGM I like it. Lots of Jiffers and regulars playing BG42 sounds like great fun to me
Re: Is CCM still up to date????
I don't get it.
Why add BG on when we already have a BG42 server online?
Why not just promote the BG42 server with a link on the regular server?

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
I guess Corn that by having BG on potluck on a Mondays it would mean that only BG could be played. I would love to see some conquest fights on BG with lots of people playing. There are also some great BG conquest only maps which folks haven't seen yet on our Coop BG server.
Re: Is CCM still up to date????
Can i take back my vote?
If we can add a few AA guns on the server side to a few maps i would be more likely to vote Vanilla Mondays.
Battleaxe,Kursk need AA at mains and maybe defgun at mains on Battleaxe.

Re: Is CCM still up to date????
Oh I can do it (theoretically) but neither of the computers I use will run Battlecraft 42 because it is so temperamental
War Trophy or Kelly's Hero might be a better bet to ask as they can also do it.
I can advise from afar if necessary
Just need to open the map, add the AA guns and then call it Kursk_001.rfa, then get Mike to load it on server, this will overwrite the original map each time it is loaded and because it is SSM players will not need the new map.
Maybe next week I can try as will have access to diffferent comuter
