Re: YOUR TURKEYBIRD PICTURE HERE
Turbaconducken (Turducken Wrapped in Bacon)
Just in time for the winter season comes a recipe that is sure to bring bacon lovers some warm holiday cheer. Turbaconducken. That’s right — a chicken stuffed in duck stuffed in a turkey, all wrapped in bacon. Otherwise known as a bacon-wrapped turducken.
"Get the paddles, this will be a big one!"
Personnaly, I have never tried turducken, mainly because I avoid food that has a name that begins with “turd”.

Re: YOUR TURKEYBIRD PICTURE HERE
For some reason that just doesn't look quite right.
Maybe it is because it isn't cooked yet.

Hmmm, Turducken you say?
Sound more like contestant at pie throwing competition, and I don't mean fruit pies either?
It might be good or at least moist, considering all the bacon it's wrapped in?

Here's the cooked version.
A bumper would probably taste good if it were wrapped in bacon!!!

Here's a sequence of events in pictures.
All grown up
Carrying him to the block.
...
In the oven finally!
Hot turkey..look out!
I gave my parents the neck. The neck on the bottom is from an 18 pound store bought turkey.
I have never seen so much meet on a turkey before.

Re: YOUR TURKEYBIRD PICTURE HERE
How did you get it to hold it's head still on the block?
That looks just scrumptious. Wish we could come up with some excuse for a national day off celebration where you get to eat & drink like that.
Thanks for sharing your pictorial story.

Re: YOUR TURKEYBIRD PICTURE HERE
I used 2 nails in a V pattern to hold the head. That was probably the hardest part of it cause you could tell he was uncomfortable. I tried to be as quick as I could be with that part to limit any suffering. He was a cool turkey, used to come over like a dog and let me pet the top of his head. We called him Hamilton. I'm looking forward to getting some more in April, though I will not get any of the white ones...the males just get too big! 46 lbs was a bit much. lol
