Battlefield Patch 1.61b Trouble

Post by [JiF]major confusion »

Can someone help?
I had hard drive troubles & to reinstall BF1942. When it comes to installing the 1.61b patch, It says that I have verson 1.06.101 already installed & shuts down the installer.
When I play the game & go to the internet, it says I need the patch. The game says I have 1.6 installed. What do I need to do to the registry to get the game to realalize it has not been patched yet?
GRRRRRRR!

Thanks in advance.

Nasty.
I recently re-installed BF42 as well, but had no problem at all with the patch.
If you hadn't already done so, I suggest un-install BF42, also delete the patch download if you have it stored on your pc. Get rid of any folders left by BF42. Afterwards, run a decent registry cleaner, like CCleaner or, even better, AML Registry Cleaner.
(Both free applications)
Then re-install the game, download and run the patch.

good luck!

I think you have to make sure you clean out all the punkbuster stuff too, so you get a fresh install on that.
