banned

I was playing in the Jif's server and I stepped away for a few minutes to nuke some food. When I came back to the computer it said I was banned. Im wondering what the problem is?

Hi Pilotjr. You were initially banned by one of our admins for mining your own teams vehicles on Sat June 13, under the name RifledExpacker (cd hash #37bbd9e93d22345d8e0ec8a2a6efa825). Prior to this initial ban we were aware of several incidents of disruptive behaviour by yourself, under the various nicknames you have used ie Engy Ownz Medic Blowz, DDay Pilotjr, I'm Not Very Good etc.
I have included an excerpt from our admin logs which demonstrates just one of these incidents:

When I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and asked you very politely to be careful with the tk's in case they'd been accidental ie "whether intentional or accidental, pls watch the tk's Rifle", you still went on to tell me to "shut my piehole". Even though this was totally uncalled for, I still showed great restraint in not kicking or banning you at the time. I do my best to help the server run smoothly and instead I get abuse?

On the 13th June you were caught by Flying Tiger mining your own vehicles and he decided to put a ban in place. Given your history, other admin's agreed with this action.

On Wednesday, July 8th, I saw you on the server again, playing under the name -=MW=-Pilotjr. Even though you had a different cd hash (#35f1c85fdf2dce23080fdd7ace9c4567) our records showed you to be the same player in question as several of your nicknames corresponded between both hashes, such as Beetle Bailey, Zack, Pilotjr etc.
Based on this information I put a ban in place on your new hash.

In general we have repeatedly found your behaviour contrary to the ethics of JiF (Just in Fun)
Our server was founded by a group of friends who just wanted to have fun against each other, it has since then grown, but the ethos remains the same.

You are free to state your case and any reasons why the ban should be lifted, and they will of course be considered by JiF admin.

All of that chat log there has happened over a month ago, so I barely remember it. It seems that I was a bit annoyed by HELLFISH camping a main vs. not taking any flags. So yes I tked in my thinking (hopes) that we would respawn and move onto enemy flags to capture and most likely stop what bleed was going on at the time. My fault and Im sorry for that.

I dont recall the initial June 13th ban. I dont usually mine friendly vehicles unless its a trap. I remember my 8 year old son was playing one day and got banned for something possibly at this time. I posted on a jiff thread somewhere (not at this site) and asked what happened. I never got an answer so I reinstalled with a new cd key.

In this matter, [JiF]Flying Tiger will have the ultimate say, as he was the the admin who put the ban in place. (I was just "enforcing" his ban, so to speak)
It appears that he is away briefly, and is unaware of the situation. I have mailed him, and I'm sure he will post a decision as soon as he is able.

Flying Tiger apparantly hasn't been online since your initial posting. Not sure if he's away on vacation or just doesn't have access to the internet at present.
I'll bring your situation up for discussion this weekend with other admins and see what they can decide regarding your ban.

Hi Pilot
Thanks for your patience the last three weeks or so. I've had a brief discussion this last weekend with other admin who are aware of the situation.
Flying Tiger originally banned you for mining own vehicles. We did find a permaban to be somewhat excessive as an individual incident, but at the time, we decided to uphold that ban because of your general behaviour in the past.
What it came down to was that you came across as arrogant and inconsiderate to less accomplished players, and would take matters into your own hands, like tk'ing and badgering team mates if they were doing something you disagreed with.

We enjoy having regulars and skilled players such as yourself on the JiF server, because it makes some of us newer guys better players.
But rather, you should endeavour to join in the spirit of the JiF server, have a laugh when it's ridiculous and keep it friendly when communicating with others.
Admin will deal with tk'ers and idiots if made aware of any infractions or bad sportsmanship. If you have an issue or frustrations in the game, please approach an admin - they're always happy to help, but when you take matters into your own hands, it gets nasty for everyone concerned.

You are now welcome back on the server, please just ensure that your style of play makes the game fun for everyone on the server, which is what we stand for at [JiF] - Just In Fun.
Everyone will benefit if we find no reason to re-instate the ban.

Thanks, I appreciate your time, patience, and consideration, and more importantly having the ban lifted. I dont want to be looked at as a "disruptive player" or "arrogant". So thanks for telling me what the disruptions was so that I wont do them again.
