Wrong version! Do you want to update?

This driving me nuts. I just bought a new computer, with Vista Home Premium. I reinstalled the entire BF1942 collection, installed the latest patch (1.6.19), updated my PB and put in all the mod maps.

But when I try to get on JiF, I get the message "Wrong version! Do you want to update?"

No matter if i say yes or no, nothing more happens.

I randomly checked some other servers, and could get on a few (all without PB I nmoticed) buit not others (with or without PB).

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Have you tried going to the evenbalance.com website and doing a Punkbuster update ?

The problem was I needed patch 1.6b, which fixed that issue.

But now I am getting kicked form the JiG server because of "pnkbstr b.exe communication failure."

I don't even see a pnksbstr b file, only an a.

I've run the PB setup several times, but till get kicked.

If your running Vista, 1st check and make sure the new Vista security features have punkbuster a and b service allowed to run.

Are you running the Windows pb exe update ver 3.4 found here?
