I had previously played the 1.4 version and really liked it. I have now downloaded the latest v1.6 and it is awsome!! The planes fire tracer bullets the sounds are amazing and the personal weapons are great. I also like it that you can rotate artillery guns to change the arc of fire (like on FH) Another great thing is the addition of foliage lots of trees etc the maps don't look as bare now, check out Market Garden with it's tree lined avenues!! I can't wait to play this mod on JiF

I played a bit last night -- just singleplayer. It's more like FH with flatter trajectories for the tank shells. A couple of maps had lots of tanks so there should be some good tank battles like FH has. I did get some lag problems, but I sometimes get that with singleplayer versions and don't get it with the online version. At least one map had a throwing knife. I saw a throwing knife kill made by the bots. I also like the chaos when you are in a tank under fire and you can't see anything for the dust and smoke thrown up. I'll probably join you on line when I get a chance.

There were five of us from [JiF] on this server last night and I was thinking we could play there until ours is up and running:
BG42 1.6 [BAM] the ip is: 78.46.41.198:14567
Incoming fire has the right of way!

I've hit a bit of a snag on the training server. Might not have this running for this Monday, gotta think about this a bit to come up with a solution and it's tough for me to work on this stuff during the weekend.

C:\Programfiles\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\battlegroup42\Archives\bf1942\levels. There is only lots of map names that's .rfa files. No unwelcome visitors.

It's on the previous page before this one.

Installed and played BG42 yesterday (with some other JiFers) on some server (*MOB*COOP*). Seems to be european, had a good ping.
Was fun with new well designed maps and weapons/vehicles. Liked the smoke-grenade and I guess there are more fun features to discover.
Kyle missed his best friend (zooka) on some maps lol.
It's like Shellshocked said, something between original BF1942 and ForgottenHope1.
I like!

I'm starting to wonder if this mod only works with windows servers, or if I have to get all the client files onto the server. When I try to run a map I get a pretty nasty error message about not finding some info. I don't even wanna think about uploading over 3GB to the server. 8/

That's what I have and it does not work on Linux. I'm gonna try those files on the match server today as it's running Windows.

Don't worry... It was fun at first and still is sorta, but I've become used to it and I was already too used to regular old BF42. I'll be on BF more and perhaps the same will come with some others. We do however need to have some JiFFers on the BF server to keep order.( noticed that not many of us are on the BF server lately. The other day I got on and got a complaint about a guy who just left and there wasn't anyone around to situate things)

I think Harrick is right about that. The "old" BF1942 should not - and will not - be abandoned. For me BG42 is a bit like some new playground where I can try those tons of new stuff the guys brought up and it's definitely worth playing. Especially the new vehicles, sounds and updated weapons make it so special. But only the old 1942 allows my favorite style of playing. Everyone who's ever met one of my zooks knows what I'm talking about... ;) And thats why I will keep playing the regular game. You just have to be very concentrated when you switch from one to another since there are some important differences.

Looking forward to next rounds on MOB or our home server! :viva:
