Think I read that the TFC designers were never really happy with the balance of the medic class and they've taken TF2 as the opportunity to redeisgn it. Also read that they were much happier now (with TF2) with the medic but were saving the details as a surprise. Dunno what's up with the pyro class..
I'm still hoping for a 2006 release of TF2. With Steam, they can sell the EP2/TF2/Portal package and just release pieces as they become ready. If TF2 isn't the reason for the reported delay into next year, we might get that piece this year. Maybe.
I'm kinda torn with the release...on one hand I can wait for the projected Q1 2007 release
just for the fact that it will give me more time to upgrade..
the other hand wants it released now for the sake of instant gratification...lol

Speaking to CVG, the marketing manager said that this was now the target, and obviously meant the same for Team Fortress 2 and Portal.
Those two games will be bundled with Episode Two on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - with the latter two console packages also including Episode One and the original Half-Life 2 game.
You can read more about how production's been going on Episode Two and its friends TF2 and Portal by checking out our Leipzig interview with Valve.
A lot of us got started in online gaming by playing Team Fortress. That was a mod originally for old Quake.
After Valve came out with Half-Life (the original one) a Team Fortress mod was made for that. Shortly after that JiF came into exitstence.
So older JiFers (meaning been playing for a while online, not old in age) have fond memories of Half-Life Team Fortress. I would say its been around 5 years.
Many still play it today. I do once in a while.
I guess Valve is gonna release a new version of Team Fortress with the new release of Half Life (I think) so some of us are a little excited about it. Does not mean it will be any good, but we can hope.

Man, do I ever have fond memories....Antman and his merciless headshots....Frozen Banana and his beat downs with a crowbar....Chaser and his sentry guns.....yikes....and it's hard to imagine it's been 5 years already...
Yes, I remember Jimbo the EMP master. He could place one of those frisbees anywhere.
Seem I remember him saying something like this on teamspeak. Get ready to die, I am not letting him take the flag even if we all have to die too
I never played TFC and look forward to playing TF2 if only for its unifying qualities. I always marvelled at the games that brought JiFFers together like TFC and Battlefield 1942. BFV, BF2 and BF2142 obviously have never had that going for them. I miss the days of a server full of nuts and a spattering of fresh meat and Nuts in waiting.
I'll watch the vid later with the office door closed so I can partake in the audio.
Grimp I actually remember saying that more than once and I also remember how much I would laugh when I would prime an emp just before dieing, then watch the guy that killed me go for my pack as the emp would go off and most times kill him. Way to funny.
So sayeth the kid on the big wheel at the end of "The Incredibles", because that is what the clip reminded me of. "The Incredibles" meets "Wallace & Grommit" meets TFC.
