Greetings

Post by Polecat21 »

Hello,
My name is Mike, but you all know me (kinda) as polecat21. I have been on your server a few times, and I found that it very enjoyable and the people are nice. I am 44 , and I am retired from the Army. I have downloaded the map pack from here, and found a few more at http://battlefield2.filefront.com/files ... in=0#files
but i seem to be missing some files. Any idea where tehy could be? Capture Ortino is teh one im looking for.Any help would be great. I looked at your videos, and they are funny.Your practice server video was just hilarious.I live in LI, NY, as my last post was at West Point Military Academy.I enjoy old arena rock, ( zep, floyd, rush) and some goth (hurt) and really like the band Descendents. They called themselves "ALL" then changed back to their origanal name. I enjoy EQ ( 85 DE Necro) and Scouting for BF1942. Cant seem to fly planes very fast, think my logitech wingman has dried beer in it, but still have fun . I am still kinda learning this game, so please, be gentle when you see me on , knowing im a n00b. Looking forward to playing again soon with you all.

Hiya Polecat

Saw you around last night. Thanks for stopping by to say hello, so many don't. Good that you did the mod maps too. We like to have a bit of fun & do something different on a Monday. If you've got a headset & mike it is even better as we usually have a group of us joking around on Teamspeak & you get to hear English spoken the proper way (not Gib's Dick van Dyke Mary Poppins accent he is so fond of  )
Glad you have enjoyed your experience with us so far. We do try to admin the server so everyone has fun playing with us.
I think the map you are missing sounds like Capture of Ortona? The file should be stored in the Xpack1 folder not the standard bf1942 folder of maps. General path of where it should be placed is x:\program files\ea games\battlefield 1942\mods\xpack1\archives\bf1942\levels any problems finding it & getting it in the right place post back here & we will get you sorted

See you out there

Ok, I found the xpack folder. Should I put those files ing bf42 archive also? Another thing, I tried getting on this morning, but said map wasnt found. Mimoques, (sp?) Santo Craco (sp?) where some of the maps i dont have. Is there a link to all the maps you guys use on your server rotation? LOL, and i downloaded TS2. I use Ventrilo for EQ, so TS shouldnt be a problem, but then again, im not computer literate. I can field strip Howitzers, M203s, and change a lightbulb, but know nothing about computers <LOL.......

NVM, I finally found out that I need Road to Rome and Secret Weapns also. It will be some time till get those.

Hi Polecat.
I'm pretty sure you could pick up the Battlefield anthology pack real cheap, at decent gamestore or media center for under $10.
In Europe they're still on the shelves for a song, as low as 5 euros in places.
Hope you get your hands on the R2R and SW so I get to kill you a few times, seeing as you're kind enough to come say hello
