bf1942 Quits after startup

Maybe someone can help me. I start bf1942 and 60% of the time it just quits and I have to start over. I recently got a new computer and it only does this on the new computer. The specs of my computer are: AMD Athlon x2 Dualcore 5000+ 2.61GHz, NVIDIAGeforce GTX 260, 3GB ram, Vista Ultimate32 bit OS. I don't know if it's OS or hardware. The game played perfect on my old XP computer. Any help sure would be appreciated

Oh Dear Oddball, I'm afraid you have the Vista Curse

what you need to do is set every programme that is associated with BF1942 to run in XP compatibility mode.
Right click on the .exe icons and click properties then set to run in XP mode
you need to do this for Vanilla BF, SW and RTR
also you need to set Punkbuster A and Punkbuster B the same
also TS and Fraps if you use it
