New Laptop
I am going to have an opportunity to go out and get a new laptop. I think I will Save Up for the Sony- VAIO with Intel(r) Centrino(r) Processor Technology. It runs Windows as its platform and can run Vista OR Win 7 Ideas? Other suggested Computers under $1300? http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... ryId=16154 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 8095152438

Re: New Laptop
Harrick I play on a Sony Vaio which is at least 4 years old. Mine is a 17" monster which weighs a ton, but it has a great screen.
I think you'd be better off waiting until you can get a machine with W7 on it rather than the Vista & free upgrade route. Will not be that long now 'til it is out.
Still I would recommend the Sony as touch wood I have had no problems apart from the type face disappearing off of my W A & D keys for some strange reason

It reminds me of the old joke about the gears on Italian tanks more reverse than forward.
There now I've managed to offend a whole nation & their overseas descendants.

Phew
when I read that first line I was reminded of an even older joke
"Do you have any Irish in you?"
"No"
"Do you want some...."

Re: New Laptop
Out of all the laptops I have owned over the last several years I would have to suggest a Toshiba. I'm still using my Toshiba 17" which is around 5 yrs old and it still out performs a lot of the new ones. I have a 2 yr old Gateway that I got to use when we travel so the kids could watch movies on it and stay off mine and I would rather watch movies on mine as the pic quality and sound is just outstanding.
Toshiba may be a little more expensive then most but I have come to consider them the luxury of all laptops.
