Ok my wifes brother has an xbox 360 and recently he has had the E74 error with 1 red light showing up , Does anyone know how to fix it without buying a new system or having to send it out to get fixed by Microsoft or whoever fixes it? Please let me know

When he gets his Xbox back make sure he downloads all his games and map packs again. The DRM stuff is linked to his xbox and odds are it won't be the one he gets in return. If he doesn't things can get screwy..especially if there more than one profile on the xbox.
Also.. expect a free month of xbox live to be included in the shipment, makes sending it back for repair a little less painful.
