Hi all!
Hi all!
Hey Jif, I finally signed up for the forums and ts. Haven't been on ts as my sound card mic input seems to have failed. I got a new headset to make sure so will try here shortly. Love the server and you guys are a lot of fun. Thanks for a friendly place to play
I was our Air Force General for the {DMB} - Devil's Mercanary Brigade back in the day. We were a fun clan that also played in some league against other clans. We practiced a few times a week and had strategy sessions on maps(arty cloud spotting, tactical areas, who does what, contingincy planning). We were hard core lol. It was alot of fun.
After WOW came out we all went to that. I came back to BF since Im WOW'd out and miss it! I have vietnam, rtr, sw, 2142(don't like the physics) and bf2(ok but i don't enjoy nearnly as much as 42). I am looking forward to 43 so will be getting that when its out because of the eye candy and destructable environment - I love it when things go Ka-Blooey!
I was also in Rum n Coke clan. Alot of nice and fun folks on there too but is now also defunct pretty much.
Anyway, I know most clans take donations or require them so how much a month does everyone give? I'd be happy to help out if you want me as member. I'd play in matches if you need me too sign up for when you have them. Im on ALOT as you've all probably noticed but sometimes sporatically since Im on call alot(IT- DBA) and get paged now and again(damn work interfering with my KDR again!).
I also have another hobby - guitar. For those that might be interested my gear is a 15w crate, Ibanez Prestige(US Made) for Rock/Metal, and an Ovation Celebrety acoustic-elec red with cutaway. I have an rp350 processor from Digitech but going to upgrade to the rp500 for switching effects. I love everthing from Rock to Bach(want to learn Rock Canon in D yet ). Mostly classic rock and when we camp I take the acoustic and usually end up playing 12 hours and we all drink ALOT of beer and sing(well drunk bellowing is more like it).
Im married (I call her my MILF ) have an 18 year old son Cody and a Black lab named Keeley. Im an old fart, 41(Dec). Guess that's it, I love to joke around too so I hope to hear the voices behind the names soon.
See you on the battlefield soldiers </salute>

Re: Hi all!
Gib I am so glad that you, like me eventually managed to get on the forum.
I too am an over 40 'oldy' that has tried other games but just love the bf42 we play here.
This server is run Just In Fun hence the JiF name. There is no need for donations, we have asked, but the seniors provide it for our entertainment free gratis.
Oh how we would love to have you in our team in the BFCL matches we have just started playing recently. Our record is not too good so far, but we are learning, as it is the current crops first time in scrims.
Look forward to speaking to you on TS in the future as I really respect you as a player & you need to hear how the English really speak.

This link will give you some perspective on membership. We like to get to know people over several months on the server, the forum and TS before we extend an invite. There is no hard rule. I think I played for about 6 months before my invite. 41 puts you mid-range. I play a little guitar also. I have several acoustic guitars, but my main one is a Taylor 314CE. I keep extra guitars at my kid's houses so I'll have one to play when I visit. I do have a Fender Squier Tele, but that is mainly ornamental. I wanted a Tele someday and the opportunity to buy this one cheap came up. I 'inherited' my sister's banjo, but won't do much with that until I get fingerstyle down on the Taylor.
Enjoy the server and get to know us and let us get to know you. Thanks for stopping bye.

Re: Hi all!
Heya Gib,
Enjoy playin with ya on JIF, your a really good player. Every once in a while my bullets hit you and I consider it worth 5 points for that rather than 1 . I myself play Bass, Fender Pre. and Peavey TKO 65 amp (amps 'bout 25 yrs. old and still kickin...they don't make em like that anymore). I'm almost as old as yourself a young 38. Started playing 'bout 4 months ago and don't play anything else, not too much of a gamer but I LOVE BF42.
See ya shootin me later.

Re: Hi all!
Hi Gib,
Welcome to the forums. We have a good mix of players here young and not so young.
Your history explains why you're sharp on the battlefield. Look forward to seeing you there. Although I might be hiding in my hUTCHIE hut if you're in the sky.
hUTCHIE.
P.s. Sorry for kicking you once - it was nothing you had done wrong. I was trying to kick another player and did not refresh the BFRM screen so it kicked you for a minute instead !!!

Re: Hi all!
Hi Gib,
Nice of you to stop by and say hello, I too am one of those hunkering in my foxhole when the 'Gib is Airborne' shout goes up.
Unless I'm on your team, then I tend to TK you out of sheer fright.
Have a look around the forums and let us know if you find anything you like
see you out there

Hi Gib, nice to have you here in the forum – and maybe we meet us in TS next.
It´s good that we (the over forties) have the strongest group.
MILF = Moro Islamic Liberation Front?
(a Muslim separatist rebel group in the Philippines)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is that right????
Please send me a pic from your options for the plane attitudes ...
Regards
Alfred
