I hopped on TS for the first time in months and was met by silence. Ok, there were only three people on TS and maybe they stepped away for a moment. Minutes go by and I finally hear conversation resume. Daterminaytah is having connection problems so I offer a bit of advice. - No reply. Hmmm, maybe his internet connection is down.
Shellshoked announces (wrongly) that I'm camping the enemy base. On TS I inform him I'm just stealing a tank to make good my escape after being shot down. I simultaneously shoot him in the head to make my point. Thoroughly chastised he chooses to remain silent. One must respect a wise man.
Later Gav takes me like a drunken prom date and I tell him 'nice shot' but instead of replying he merely takes me again as I respawn (the cheeky bas...fellow. Twice in 10 seconds, I don’t know if I’d brag about that.). Anyhow, it’s about time for me to quit so I decide to let it drop and say goodnight. I leave the game and disconnect from TS.
I'm still puzzled by the chilly reception on TS but I realize most of the voices I've heard all night have that distinctive sound particular to people from the other side of the pond. I assume that maybe they were having trouble with my 'accent' and resolve to talk more clearly and distinctly in the future. I also resolve to use simpler words and words containing fewer syllables to enhance our future attempts at communication. Much the same way as I do when talking to my southern friends.
That's when I saw the mute button on my microphone cable had been depressed throughout the night. I previously didn’t know I had such a device.
Upon seeing this I let slip a series of monosyllable words which cause my wife’s eyebrows to rise. Kind of a ‘face lift in a sentence’ deal. As a cosmetic procedure it has very limited potential as those same eyebrows quickly came crashing down and began angling toward the bridge of her nose. Even botox lasts longer then that. I notice this and manage to finish about three words short of requiring some kind of microphone-ectomy. My manhood intact I forcefully click the mic button in the manliest way possible and shut down the system. Then I slink outside. Manliness only goes so far, at least if you want to keep it.
All-in-all I’d have to rate the whole night a C+.

Don't feel too bad. I don't have a mute button on my mic (it's internal on my laptop and whatnot) and while TS works while I'm on my desktop, it never triggers in-game
Still working that bug out. lol

Re: -sigh- TS and me
I use my housemates computer during the week and it has (3, count them 3) ports for a microphone, I have 2 mics and a USB headset with mic.
but when I use TS I cannot speak to other players. I can hear them, but no speakee
I have tried all of the mics in combination with all of the different codec settings but nothing has worked.
I am gonna buy a new one and if that don't work I may be silent on TS for the matches, will have to see how it goes

Re: -sigh- TS and me
This is where I wish I had 2 screens. 1 to play & 1 to see who comes/is on TS. Might then have seen your button keep going on without any input from you.
Thanks for the 2 quick kills by the way.
The early silence could have been due to Shell & I having a "fresh air break". I never think to bother changing my status to away for such a short time. I tend to limit my conversation as it involves me taking both hands off the wheel. I have to use 1 to do push to talk & the other to earth the laptop so I don't give this horrible loud background hum whilst talking. This means that talking whilst engaging the enemy is impossible unless you want to be an easy kill.
Maybe next time eh Badger!

I think with the rounding curve we can raise you a full grade point Badger. I forgot I changed some settings on another program for recording. I thought my mic died when it got wrenched out by one of the dogs. I went and bought a new headset... then remembered about my changed settings... (at least I have a back up headset now)

I got on Skype video with my grandkids and I could hear them, but they couldn't hear me. After my Son-in-Law talking me through several things he asked if my mic was on. Sure enough, the on/off switch on my mic was in the off position. I'm still smarter than Badger though because......
I'll get back to you on that later.

Re: -sigh- TS and me
LOL. I have TS for BF1942 and Ventrilo for WOW set up on my computer. I have two different push-to-talk hot-keys, and of course I often go for long periods with the two mixed up. Same thing, I start wondering why I'm being snubbed.
But at least in BF1942, I know something is wrong since my WOW hot key is Left-Control. So every time I talk, I see my guy squat, and that's the first clue something is not right.
