well, as a Jedi Knight myself, I would have to say who has more control of the force and their own presence within it.
Darth Vader, being trained by a Greater Jedi, then by a Sith lord would have the advantage of the Dark Side.
There are forces with it that are in fact to awesome to belive.
But they all stem from hatred and fear.
Luke, being the hero heroine, automatically won just for the movies.
Darth Vaders life-suit did not restrict his powers in the force.
Luke Skywalker won the battle because of the very little good that was hidden within him.
He realized before he killed Emperor Palpatine that Luke was right.
So I would have to say that before Anikin was crippled, he was still an apprentice and hadnt fully gone to the darkside.
All in all, Vader held back from killing Luke because of his tiny amount of love hidden in him.

So you could say that the feeling of love destroys a Sith, but does this also apply to a jedi such as Luke? Would the one who has more to lose be less powerful because they are crippled by fear? But then fear leads to the Sith...so if you had something to lose then it should, in theory grow you more powerful. Is it safe to say that Anakin's love that caused his entry into the Sith also be the reason for saving his son...a Jedi? To put it bland, love makes one evil, so a jedi must not love...if love is only what Sith have, then Vader had it all along, even for his son. It couldn't have been that minute that the love he had within saved him from murdering Luke, I think that after everything was said and done, Vader realized that he had nothing to love anymore, his empire had crumbled and those close to him decieved him. It was him releasing his emotional bonds to his empire and other things that brought him to the light side, a side where the love for something is incognatively nonexistant. This is what allowed Luke to be spared.

Some of this testament is correct, if in the slightest.
but, Vader did love his children.
He is so consumed by fear and hate that he doesnt even realize it.
After his fiery burial on Endor, He comes to Luke and tells him how it was.
He tells Luke this because Leia doent like it that he is her father.
But keep in mind, Anikins Midi-chlorians were way more sensitive than Lukes....

So if one has sensative Midi-chlorians then they are predispositioned to join the darkside, even though more of it ables one to be stronger in the force? If having sensative Midi-chlorians, could it be said that the force favors those on the darkside and/or chooses the sith to have a bigger bargaining chip in survival? This would mean under the Darwin theory that the strongest survive (one with more sensative Midi-chlorians are meant to live absolutely) due to their strength within the force....

Silly Tissue. It wasn't in the future. It took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.[JiF][AARP]Tissueman wrote:Excellent point, Dandy. Do you think Step could have successfully intervened with Anakin to prevent him from becoming Darth assuming Step lived in the future in a galaxy far, far away and wasn't a real person? Maybe he'd have a cool levitating couch.[JiF]Dandyman wrote:I think you all need some couch time with Step.

Sly, Don't make me have to explain the space-time continuum to you. Energy is matter is energy as the past is the future is the past. (I hope I was able to cloud his mind with the force - ok, point taken. Sigh. And I almost googled it to make sure. Drat!)
