Battlefield Heroes beta key

Post by [JiF]Lt Gav »

Has anyone else signed up on the site to try & get a key to play the Beta version of this?
I have, but don't hold out much hope as I think there is a lot of interest & looking in the forums they have been waiting months & not got a key.
Still worth a punt to try & get in on the testing stage before the release.

I just signed up now...

Looks like the key release is slated for this month, no exact date but sometime within the next 23 days.
I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly".
That way everyone in the country can get wasted drinking Responsibly.
And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink Responsibly".
Probably will annoy the government as well.

It's still in Beta format so requirements could change...

But here is what the said at the Battlefield Heroes Website.
We're currently aiming for a minimum requirement of:

Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista
CPU: 1.0 GHz
RAM: 512 Mb (1Gb on Windows Vista)
Video Card: 64Mb DirectX compliant video card with at least pixel shader 2.0 support
Hard Drive space: 1Gb of space is required to install the game
Internet connection: 256kbit Cable/DSL connection
Keep in mind that this may change somewhat by the time we release Battlefield Heroes. Nevertheless we are aiming for wide availability; we don't think anyone should have a super computer to be able to play and have fun.

Hmmm still no sign of a key, but then same for loads of people looking on the site.
I am not too bothered though as I have watched some of the stuff people have posted on YouTube & this game just looks a bit too cartoony & clunky for my liking. I mean looking at some chap driving round in the Sherman, the tank is just so badly done.
Maybe my opinions might change when we actually get to play it. Servers limited to 16 players too!!!!

I'm still unsure of what to make of this battlefield revival

Bad company 2
1943 and
Heroes

it seems like (for all their size) EA are trying to do too much at once, why develop a 'free' game that will detract from your target market for Bad Company 2, whilst also releasing a cross platform game in 1943 that I'm guessing is intended to attract more people to Bad company.

if only they would update and revamp 1942 without ruining the gameplay - some hope!

Yes, but don't forget this was supposed to release summer/autumn last year so they have got their timings all screwed up with 3 titles in the pipeline.
Maybe they should concentrate on getting 1 of them up & running!

I signed up for a beta key the second go around and I received mine March 10th. Seems like a cool little game. Anyone else gets it let me know and we will hook up.

According to the Beta site, they are sending out 50,000 keys today. So anyone else who signed up for one keep your eyes open.
