how many were here when no one was in JiF?

Post by Doom27 »

Anyone? As in, a few years back I always seen [JiF] Public Pot Luck (May have been named something else) and it had like 40 some slots. (44, 48? maybe?) and like you would see a JiF member in it once every month? And no one played there?

I played there 1-2 times...but it always lagged me with all those damn bots...

So...have any of you others been around since the server was like that?

I've been in that server even before that Doom. you came in long after that.

And there were JiF members more often than that. Abeit the old AARPs were scarce and few.

I think there might be a nine or ten year anniversary coming up soon. Not really sure when though... Grimp might have geo-cached those brain cells somewhere. I am certainly foggy going back that far.

I think the 9 or 10 year anniversary has passed. I played here when [JiF] was a TFC team and I think it was either late summer or early fall in 99 when I got selected to join this great family.

I had started working for a new company in March of 99 and got hooked on TFC that spring and found the [JiF] server which was the very first server I played on. I found everyone here to be the nicest people and they took the time to help me learn the game a little better and have never left. After all of these years and finally getting the chance to meet a few members of my extended family a couple of years and I can honestly say that the only major change I have seen around here is everyone getting just a day or two older.

It really has been a long time.
I was playing with JiF back in mid-late 90's TFC.
Then BF42 came out and there were always lots of JiF'ers on.

Makes me feel old

I found this at archive.org. This is a copy of the site as it was in 2001 nothing before that but it does have the picture on it that I receive a lawyers letter from.

Not sure if that was the website design that got P&B all hot and bothered...unfortunately I don't think I still have the files for that rev of the site. I think it was back when we did a parody of the actual JiF site.

was it this one?
Tough to say...need all the images to know. Still have the lawyer papers? What were the dates on those?

I remember the main image across the top said "JiF" with their "Choosy Mom's Choose Jif" tag line and we had replaced the mom and her child with the Medic and Eng from TFC.
