PB Taste Test

Post by [JiF]corn »

I went out last night and bought 2 jars of Peanut Butter.
The idea was to have a taste test with my 11 yr old son to prove Jif was the best.
Of course i had to buy the reduced fat, or my wife would have really let me know what for.
My son had no idea that i was going to do this.I grabbed 2 spoons and dipped them in their assigned jars.
I called him over and told him to try both of these and let me know which one he liked.
He picked Peter Pan :(
I told him to go back in the living room and i would call him back for another test later.
The second test he picked Peter Pan again. Then he smiled and said does this mean you have to join Peter Pan BF42 clan?
He laughed a little after he said it.
I said no son, it means you are not mature enough to be in a cool clan like JiF :D

I still can't get past buying low fat PB. My wife bought some once and I told her I'd rather die eating the real PB than eat the low fat. She tried low fat cheese once also. Buy the good stuff and just use less. :)

This post came at about the correct time. I was watching a cooking show this morning and they was using JiF in a recipe. The person that was like the helper or whatever (like when a host from the Today show helps the person doing whatever) had asked the chef about using low fat or reduced salt PB in the recipe. I thought the chef was going to keal over from a heat attack but he told the helper that the low fat, reduced salt and so on was less healthy for you then the regular PB.

The chef went on to explain that PB has some nutrients and other stuff in it that the body needs and when they make it low fat, reduced salt and so on that they are making it more harmful because they use chemicals to make those and that stays in the PB after they are done and that regular PB is better for you and is less fattening then the low fat PB. He went on to name several diets that include regular PB and they tell you not to use the low fat, reduced salt and so on.

Tissue has the right idea!
Eat less of the regular stuff.
I'll have to feed that reduced fat stuff to my trash can. :D
