Explosion chuting
How do some of you regularly pop your chute after being blassted by a tank shell? I have hit the 9 key immediately after such an event -- sometime several times in a panic -- but the chute never seems to open. Do you have the key mapped to your mouse for a quicker response?
Re: Explosion chuting
There is a delay (3 sec.???) before your chute will open whether your bailing out of a plane or flying through the air after a tank shell blast.
If you don't get booted high enough your time runs out.
It doesn't always work. I get lucky maybe 2 out of 10 times.

Using chute can also be a good and fast way to come down from high buildings, for example the "towers" in the main flag area on the Baytown map.
They are high enough for chuting.

Same with DamBuster. After you take the flag from either the Dam or the Power Plant, you can parachute down. Although, the Dam is especially fun if you have a jeep handy Hehehe

I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly".
That way everyone in the country can get wasted drinking Responsibly.
And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink Responsibly".
Probably will annoy the government as well.

I use that expression a lot in Bf42[JiF]Djsmg wrote:Only if you remember not to be in team chat as a passenger

The result of a commonly used tactic in Bf42. Engage in healthy social interaction with your opponent, then kill him. All very polite and sociable.
Re: Explosion chuting
I think sometimes it has to do with being a direct hit or a near hit.
In a direct hit your body may go 100 ft high, and you can't open your chute.
Your just dead!
A near hit is when the tank hit or even the explosion from a bomb drop is close and causes you to fly high enough to open a chute.

Re: Explosion chuting
It also helps if you happened to be jumping. The explosion will launch you into the air, but since it wasnt a direct hit, you're probably just mostly dead and able to chute

I find that the '9' key is very unreliable but if you map the chute onto a joystick button as a secondary input it works every time, and opens almost instantly,
only problem is getting your hand from keyboard to stick quick enough

I mapped it to a side button on my mouse. As my hand is always on it.[JiF]zougathefist wrote:I find that the '9' key is very unreliable but if you map the chute onto a joystick button as a secondary input it works every time, and opens almost instantly,
