Re: Zouga's map making travails
Zouga, will your map feature some 'No zook' signs all over the map with no anti-tank kit available ? Just to keep Mini trying some other kits xx

Was working on smaller newer version of map today, have perfected the depth issue, got some water in too, was clearly being over-optimistic about having it done soon. There is a lot more to it than it seems at first. Will post some screenies later this week or early next.

Re: Zouga's map making travails
It sure looks pretty. Is it based off a battle, or just something you made up?

Re: Zouga's map making travails
sorry bout the double post but only 3 pics per reply....
Once I get the last of the objects placed I'll send a copy out to the testers and work on their feedback.
Still have the vegetation to sort and some issues with sandbags (See here: http://www.jiff.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2302 )
Once thats done I might try adding Bots....

Re: Zouga's map making travails
Sorry Zoug
I forgot!
Yes I'd love to have a run round your map. I've got to see if you've built in any sneaky places
A good map always gives you the ability to sneak in the back door somewhere. Oooh Matron.

Re: Zouga's map making travails
Gav,
do you think I would make a map and not leave you or Mini someway of sneaking around, I'm shocked.
What I'm hoping is that you can offer some advice on what the map needs/doesn't need
I'm getting impatient with it now and looking to make another already,
I have loads of Ideas but I better make this one work first I guess.

Have had one success tho, turns out Ladders have a front and a back, position them the wrong way and they are no more than decoration. they also have a top and bottom, if they are upside down you can't climb them....most bizarre

Re: Zouga's map making travails
That's is strange. I would've figured you could go up or down a ladder, no matter which way it's pointed...
As for the sandbag issue, that reminds me of Coral Sea when you're on the side of the carrier and try to shoot to the lower deck. Some invisible wall stops you and the other guy kills you. Very annoying. Dunno what it is, though

Re: Zouga's map making travails
Hey Gav,
I think you should keep the "stiff upper lip, wot!" and wrap this up! Since it would be, as far as I know, the first offical Jif map, we all should join in and test for you I think in our rotation. I'd like to see some new maps and you have one here!
Good show-
