Other BF 1942 servers, are there any?

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to check out another server ( it felt like i was cheating on my wife leaving the JiF server, but I went anyway...) and found that it was a pretty good run. Server was smittenkittensplace I think and it was a lot of fun. The amount of players online seems to be thining out so it was good to find decent players on another server. I went back yesterday when I couldnt connect to our server and had fun showing the kids there how its done Jif style ( that means fair, fun and kick some A@@!) Although I was disapointed that no one said I was a Hacker by the end of a few games...lol. I miss those days....
Anyway,
Boo was there too so it was nice to know at least one person. They tend to have really high ticket counts ( over 1000) on their games but that didnt take away from having a good time. Kitten seems to be there alot checking out the game play and asking about our JiF server/players when I am there. She has been very professional in here inquiries and responses to players. If you find you want a little different action and some new faces to kill, I recomend checking it out. Nothing replaces Jif players or games for all around quality, but its a nice second place or plan B to go and take care of that 1942 thing of yours.

You know I had that same feeling of being unfaithful, as I had never played another server other than JiF.
JiF was the 1st one I picked when I got online & haven't left since.
I played on the All Lazy server the 1st time the server was out (last week I think). This is a 34 player all conquest server, pretty full & good standard.
Last night it was full & I couldn't get on so I thought I would give Sir-Die-Alot's Surfal server. This is all co-op only with about 4 or 5 maps in a rotation with each map being played twice in a row. I felt like Michael Phelps I racked up so many Gold Medals.
Thanks for the info Winky, maybe give that one a try if we have any more probs.

I'm also a regular at TLB's ALB#2. Generally the admins there are ok (I've had a run-in with one guy)and the gameplay is pretty good. I'll hit them up when the COOP starts driving me crazy =P

I tend to go to Surfal's server when jif server is down.
Sir-Die-A-Lot has been kind enough to stop by the jif server every now and then.
I don't feel likes it cheating, when your main squeeze doesn't satisfy your needs, you have to take it somewhere.

When the BF1942 server was down, I tried one that seemed to be mainly Braizalian players. They were either all using hacks or they were VERY good. I quickly had a 1-18 score on Berlin, and I have never seen such a nade tossing fight as that night near the Soviet base camp.

If you guys aren't too fussy, there's always ours (Surfals), mainly RtR and wicked customs maps (and beloved racing !) but it's not always populated. Bah, there's always the bots, you should know them by now ! xx

Well now,
there's some other servers I'll have to check ot now that I have "experimented" seeing whats beyond the jif server.

I'll look at the Surfals and the ALB TLA #2 servers. maybe i should do that really late at night when the wilfe is asleep, then she'll never notice the change of scenery on my PC. It's not cheating, I'm just checking out the field!!!

Yup, it's pretty nice over on ALB, too. Another one I like is the Battlebox - they also have it set for 2 rounds per map, and sometimes it's nice to be on a server with stricter "no basecamping/-raping" policy. On the other hand, they don't use the RtR and SW maps...

Even though I am not a Jif...

Its my first choice, and favorite server of all I have played in the year and a half since I bought the game...

However, the server was down last week and I needed to get my fix so I also found kittens palace and ended up running into winky there.

Needless to say from what I saw they were totally unprepared for the fury that he brought to that server. But in the end I like the culture and base of the JIF server better. It was pretty sweet though to see how they had modified the maps ever so slightly to throw in a few extra tanks and AA

Not hat I have been fooling around with other servers but a a "friend" of mine has played on Forgotten-Hope servers and has the same skill/no skill as me and gets his a$$ed kicked (hard). Any of you or your "buddys" with the same experience of FH?

I have only played on FH servers a few times and I remember the experience as akin to having a cactus inserted into a lower orifice and extracted through my eyes. I have managed to get a total of 1 kill in about 12 maps.
I am slightly better on DC maps, I can usually get 1 or 2 kills per map. I like the Barret .50Cal sniper

When I started out a year ago, I had a Punkbuster issue and I could only access the BAttleBox server, the one Lini mentioned. No R2R or SW and inevitably they draw a crowd of hooligans who spoil it for the better players.
A Punkbuster update sorted out my issues and I looked for a SW and R2R server, first bumping into Surfals Husky and Cassino 24/7. It was there that a [Jif] player invited me to check out Pot Luck and the JiF forums and I found what I was looking for.
Occasionally, I play on BFO Coral Sea 24/7 but that's because I like that map and the way they modded in a fleet of torpedo boats.
I'm also keen to start a new thread regarding server modding, like adding a few more AA guns in El Alamein, and some jeeps in Baytown etc
