The National bus pulled up and there were literally no cars in the National lot. Normally I hop off the bus and have my choice of a dozen or so cars. I always carefully choose an Gray, Silver or White Impala or Stratus. The National representative told us to 'form a line'. I was second in line. She told the first person to take a Silver Impala that just pulled up. She looked at me and asked if I was by myself. "Yep!" "Would you like to take that Crossfire?" "Sure!" It's a black convertible. So I've been driving my little Crossfire the last couple of days. I'll never put the top down as I don't really like convertibles, but it is nice to have one.
I guess it says something about me though when the main reason I like it is that I can tell my car-loving fanatical colleagues who all drive BMW's that I'm driving a Crossfire Convertible. Most of them get off the rental car bus and run to get the fancier cars. It irks them because they know that I never even heard of a Crossfire until Tuesday. It's a case of pearls before swine. I suppose I should feel bad about that.
Now I just need to get a camera so I can get a photo of me in my Crossfire to send them. In real life I drive a Camry. We have a two: 1993 and 2002. We tend to keep cars until they fall apart.
