PEARL HARBOUR
so i've been thinking that we need a pearl harbour map on the server, or at least CMT to begin with
there are about 5/6 that i have found but only 3 that i like.
below are the details and some screen shots.
can we take a poll to see which one ppl like and maybe load it up?

Allies start the day after 1st attack with 4 Spawn points, 1 at Harbour and 3 destroyable hangers at Airfields
they have:
2 sunken Battleships
2 Destroyers
4 PT boats
10 Planes (spread out at AFs)
Axis have only planes and spawn in them to NE
they start with 10 planes a mix of Zeros and Vals, with bombs and torps

Axis start with Fleet to NW

they all look kinda cool. i havent play any of them but since u did just keep in mind we are mostly not more then 8 people playing on custom map day

wow..these maps look pretty cool. One thought about Custom maps vs. stock maps: When the server is jumping with 24 players (IE: Full and I can't get in), a custom map would knock alot of the visitors out (and let me in). Very selfish of me, but it's sometimes hard to find the time to play (when you have a 2 year old who wants your attention until bedtime and another on the way) and not being able to get in is just plan sad.

unfortunately we have a rule that everyone must wait to get on server
If an admin were to kick someone to make room for themselves or another, it is instant grounds for revoking their privilidges.
I have been tempted to shift somone to make room for me, but I find if you keep refreshing server list page and wait for map change, you can sometimes dive in as the next map reloads.
failing that I go play on ATF and get pwnd for a while till it quietens down

Can we not have all three for CMM? But like Stonehendge not directly in the rotation but for an admin to call up?
I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly".
That way everyone in the country can get wasted drinking Responsibly.
And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink Responsibly".
Probably will annoy the government as well.

Good points We've been all over this discussion in our admin forums, and we'd decided to go with the Custom Map Mondays because when you mix maps people do get kicked. It becomes frustrating when they don't understand why, and we lose players over time. Who would want to join if they know that randomly they are going to get kicked out? The majority of players don't bother with loading custom maps so CMM is really for us hardcore/dedicated players who will do the extra work for the extra fun!Boo Radley wrote:wow..these maps look pretty cool. We have kept CMM pretty fluid to accommodate our dedicated regs. New maps changes in maps is all on the table I will be opening a thread on refining CMMs shortly. I hope to pull together all of the different ideas in the many threads to have a concentrated discussion about some adjustments. Keep giving us feedback

Maybe the "Custom maps marketing department" could add more promotion text and info how to get the needed files in the "grey server info text" that are popping up now and then
when playing. I know there are some info but it could be increased/improved?
I was joining one monday it was really nice maps but we were to few ppl (mini was there of course, giving me hell).

Pearl Harbor map is a little small.
The Axis Carriers are close to Allied AF.

Looks like I'm too late to vote in the poll (lol I like to exercise my democratic right to vote) but I like the look of Pearl Harbour. I'm dedicated to Custom Map Monday, always find the time to play a few maps, even I'm on my own - I'll just go tearing around in a jeep exploring the environment and practice zooking clouds.

I will definately have to either get this joy stick fixed or figure out this mouse-keyboard flying thing for this board. It looks like fun! We had the discussion for a bit tonight about making the boards more variable, and I agree!

Ok, im nagging at it again but i dont see any point in implementing custom maps without botsupport. Have tried several times but even great maps like dambuster get rather tedious when played all alone or with about 2 to 4 players. Karden is a blast, toujane is somehow acceptable and stonehenge is funny but large, botless maps for 1 or 2 players is just frustrating.

I agree with rix.... maybe getting more info out on the server on a consistent basis along with where to get the maps in an easy fashion would get more ppl. to stay updated and join in on the custom map days.
