Widescreen VS. Regular

If you had to choose between a widescreen LCD and a regular LCD what would you choose? Are there any downsides to a widescreen LCD???

I went with the widescreen when I got my new LCD and wont go back to a regular screen now. I think its more of preference then anything but I like mine its the Dell 24" widescreen.

Does widescreen stretch the picture? Like, does games look regular on it?

It all looks fine to me but I'm also running at 1920x1200, I notice I can see a tad more on the width compared to my wifes regular 19" and the hight seems the same. I'll jump in a game tomorrow and take a screen shot or two for you. My Dell 24" screen measures 20.5"wx12.75"h, thats the screen itself on the inside of the frame.
