I'm trying to build either a budget HTPC or a LAN PC as part of a micro ATX case review. I have an 80 gig ATA drive as well as 1 gig of PC 2700 ram, and 2 gigs of PC3200 ram (in my current system). This way I don't have to add a HD and will be using DDR ram.
As a reference, my current system consists of..
2.4 Ghz P4 FSB 533
BFG GeForce 6800 OC, 128 megs of ram.
2gigs of DDR PC2700
Audigy 2
No sata or raid hard drive.
Pretty slow by today's stanards.
Here's the case.

Going for a combo LAN/HTPC system using the ATI All In One card. This should give good
Here's the CPU:
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2.2GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor

GPU/TV Tuner
ATI All-In-Wonder X1900 PCI Express 256MB DDR3 Video Card

MB (Figure the ATI Chipset would be best and have it down to two different boards)

On the MB I would highly consider the DFI board as I have a lot of good things about from a couple of people. I have also heard good things about the ASUS board. Even tho they have their differences I'm leaning towards the DFI board. For around another $70 you can get the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ retail or the OEM version for $10 less then the retail. The FX-55 is about $120 more then the CPU you have picked out.
What you picked out looks pretty good to me tho. I just provided a couple of suggestions from what I have heard and have used myself but I'm sure someone else here has had some luck with other combinations. Just leave your self some room for upgrades down the road.
