Teamkiller...would not stop...

Post by Doom27 »

So this guy named sleep time now kept teamkilling, wounding, and shooting friendly vehicles.

He ended up with -5 score..

Below: I just wanted to sit there about 15 ft in front of him to see what he did...

Below: As you can see, no enemy airplanes, vehicles, only me and him...I wonder what could have destroyed the plane?

Below: It is kinda hard to tell, but you can see his MG firing, and the guy on the left is some innocent guy he picked on more than once...

I just don't think it is fair for him to keep playing if he is going to keep denying it...he even called me the teamkiller two times...the first time I was about 100 Yards from him...the second time was around when he rammed me.

And I also seen 2 other's complaining because he kept ramming into them.

Hi,

I agree this is extremely annoying and frustrating.

Form your screen shots there were 2 Jif members on that session and I think they may be admins.

[Jif]Uncle Stinky
[Jif] Melon Farmer

I can see that Uncle Stinky gave a warning about language. Both are fair and reasonable guys but may not have been fully aware of the problems that sleep time now was causing. After all they are concentrating on playing the game and accidents do happen that are sometimes misinterpreted. Also admins have to be very careful not to overreact, we don't want to be kicking players just on hearsay or for trivial matters blown out of proportion ( Note I am certainly NOT saying that is the case here - I merely state this to say that kicking someone is not a decision to be taken lightly).

In future if you raise issues to a JiF member in chat as they occur this will help to make them aware of the situation and how you feel about it. If there is enough evidence, then typically an admin will issue a warning to stop, if that is ignored they will kick and repeated connection and bad behaviour will result in a ban.

There is an automatic kick but I think that is set at 6 or 7 ( in case of accidental bot kills of a loaded APC or Dakota).

Meanwhile thank you for providing the screen shots and information on this.

Forewarned is forearmed as they say,

hUTCHIE.

Four of us on Aberdeen yesterday in tanks, 2 a side, and my "team-mate", a player calling himself Rambo (not MiniRambo), is driving behind me towards a flag and for some reason destroys my tank from behind, no enemy tanks in sight, nothing. He tried tk'ing a few more times but with no luck.
He logged in with the nickname Player, but then I saw a yellow server message saying "Player = Rambo" and his nick changed to Rambo.
I told him to stop the TK'ing but I think he then must have got bored 'cos I saw him running around shooting at tanks and Defguns with a sniper rifle.

On another TK note, last night on Coral Island I was chasing a few "enemy" planes in my fighter but was being hit by friendly flak. I questioned the gunners motives, but Zouga told me I'd being chasing a friendly plane  , so obviously a team-mate thought I needed disciplinary action. My apologies to the plane I was trying to shoot down.

There are times i myself don't see what people are saying during game.
We love to play the game and are busy having fun.
Teamspeak can fix some of these issues.
You don't have to talk strategy on TS, just be there so that any issues arise we can hear you.
I encourage all to request a TS account.

TKs can be a difficult issue because many are out of human error & confusion. Doom you did the right thing by coming to us. Allow us to keep an eye out for problems and we will deal with them. A quick polite post beats an in-server argument any day! You can also PM certain JiF members with more details as needed. Thanks for the info, and we will be watching! The best thing that you can do when you TK is to own up and say "sry man" quickly. That way the other person knows that you just goofed. Everyone should try to do that as much as possible. We all accidentally TK at some point. Let's keep it all in good fun :) People that TK intentionally simply have no place here with our excellent guests!

Everyone TK's by accident from time to time, but intentional TK's deserve a kick or ban.
Incoming fire has the right of way!
