I'm from Gothenburg, Sweden (Where BF1942 was created and Volvo cars are built.)
In my BF1942-life I was "born and raised" mostly on a norwegian pure inf server
(Only Berlin and Stalingrad with no nades or vehicles)
so close combat as a medic is kind of my speciality. Still learning air combat.
For some reason I got stuck in BF1942 and has not moved on to
more modern games. Don't know why. Getting old maybe (35+)?
Why are people playing this old game?
I think the JIF-server offers a good variation of maps and type of gameplay. The admins are
doing a very good job
In my real life I'm working for a big Swedish telecom company mainly designing HW and SW for 3G radio basestations (WCDMA).
On my free time I like to travel, being with friends and play golf and love to be with my son and his mother.
On the JIF BF1942 server I learned it's as stupid as bending over for the dropped soap in a prison shower as showing the rear of a your tank to mini-rambo (always running around with a zooka). He's my JIF-hero. Is there a fan-club?
I miss Waterboy on the field a bit. Seems like a very nice guy.
On vacation in Finland right now but look forward to see you guys (and girls/women?) on a BF42-map soon.

Hey rixy!
Long time, no see!
Yeah - I gave up on BF1942 - MS Vista doesnt like it at all...
Been playing Assassin's Creed and doh! 3rd person shooters are so much different from FPS's like BF...
Also been messin around seeing what cool capabilities my new system offers (videos, photos, etc).
Waiting on a few new games as well like BF Heroes (for free!)...woohoo!!
Hope all is well with ya. Wish I could have stopped by when I was over there in Karlsbad.

Hey rix what took you so long
You've been a good player on the server for a while. Glad to see you've got on the forum at last.

... while many of us remember 40+ as the size of pants we wore when bell bottoms were first in style. Long live the doughnut!![JiF]cannedcorn007 wrote:Good to hear from you!

Hi Rix,
Nice to see you on the forum - I remember your player name as Rix ® , usually at the top of the leaderboard.
Like you I am infantry - but have given up learning to fly.
Hopefully see you in game sometime.

Hello Rix
Alas no mini fan club as such - especially on the opposing team.
Zookaing a plane is usually followed by the 'Ace' saying wtf / you cheater / hack / etc. I have even seen an 'Ace' zookaed twice within 5 mins by mini.

However there is an unofficial Zooka Skool. A graduate can Zooka a jeep (aim low), a flying plane sometimes (aim high!!) and long range on infantry.rix wrote:On the JIF BF1942 server I learned it's as stupid as bending over for the dropped soap in a prison shower as showing the rear of a your tank to mini-rambo (always running around with a zooka).
