AWOL

Post by [JiF]War Trophy »

As of tomorrow, I gotta take 3 months leave of abscence from BF42, because I have to go to England to do a work project for my company, for 2 months (I live in Holland).
And after those 2 months are up, I am then taking a 3 week vacation to the United States, to visit some dear friends and my fellow band members, who live in Michigan.
I'm gonna miss all the new friends I've made on JiF ( Except you hUTCHIE, 'cos you have foiled every single cunning strategy or plan I've ever conceived to win a round on bf42 lol). But seriously, I'm gonna be lost without Mini's zookas flying up my rear end, in a tank or on foot, to show me which way I should NOT be facing when he's around!
Hope you guys remember me when I get back, 'cos I've put in a lot of hours over the last few weeks to move up the JiF rankings, from position 9000 up to position 61. Long way to go yet to make page 1, but I feel I've finally achieved something with this game :D
See you all soon
Best wishes
War.

Have a safe trip, get some rest after and come back fully loaded in new strategies.

Mason, Mi. I believe it's a short distance from Lansing, and also not too far from Detroit, where I'll be sampling truckloads of your American beers in the local bars. Oh yeah, and doughnuts.

Well well War Trophy welcome to the shores of good old Blighty.
I'm sure you'll get a great warm English welcome where ever you go
I only have to think of the look strangers get at the pub I do most of my drinking in (you all know the reception if you've seen American Werewolf in London where they walk in to the little pub on the moor, lots of places like that still)
What are you doing over here?

We're installing the artificial climate systems in a new complex of greenhouses in Kent. It's the biggest greenhouse project in England ever. A project by the name of Thanet Earth, in the Margate area.
I will be consuming copious amounts of English cider. Can't get enough of that stuff and can't get it at all in Holland. Looking forward to salt ' n vinegar crisps too, lol, 'cos we don't have them in Holland either!

War Trophy
The big cider drink thing over here now is actually an Irish cider called Magners which you drink in a pint glass over ice. It's sold in a large bottle which actually with the ice gives you more than a pint.
I don't see the point of watering down cider myself, but it is the trendy thing to do!

I'll probably be sneaking some Magners back over the border with me when I return lol. And end up playing bf42 from a customs holding cell. xx
See you all soon!

Arrived safely in the UK this morning and man, you guys are right - Magners rocks (even with the ice)
Wonder how many crates I can get over the border back into Holland!?
Although... to be perfectly honest, the Dutch authorities probably won't bat an eyelid. I just have to convince them that 30 crates of Magners is for personal consumption. xx
And I need some more steak and ale pie too....
In fact I think I'll just stay here.

If you DO make it to Mason, sample all the Bell's brews you can, as it is top notch stuff. They make everything from lager to stout, and just about everything in-between. yy

Hey War Trophy,

hUTCHIE is sad that you won't miss him. But not so sad, because as you know hUTCHIE NEVER MISSES

I didn't know I was that bad. I shall have to engage in more practice for when you get back and maybe go to Skool.

You have my sympathies, 2 months of work sounds unbearable. I had to work yesterday and I'm exhausted. Fortunately we have a very enlighted managing director who decided that it is company policy to have 'light entertainment' installed on ALL company computers, provided it is properly licenced.

Enjoy your stay in england, it is usually quite pleasant at this time of year in leafy kent.

Kent. The garden of England & home to oh so many hop farms growing those lovely things to make my ale!!!
Home of Shepherd Neame the brewers of Bishops Finger.
What a wonderful place to be.
I hope you enjoy your stay here.
