There is something seriously wrong when a show about furry little targets has a thread and a show like Heroes has none.

I knew that little kid had powers!

That guys brother (forget his name) must be like X-Men's rogue and can take on someone else's power, just without the ill effects and physical contact. Best power IMO, though Hiro's power would be the one to wish for.

I'm not sure where this show is headed but I look forward to watching it more than any other show on now.

I've been watching now for a couple of weeks. Missed the first episode or two, but think I'm all caught up. Was going to start a thread about it, but it would conflict with BSG...(note to self, post in the BSG forum).

It's funny you mentioned X-Men, it does really seem like a clone of X-Men. Mutants with special powers...unless of course they end up being alien or something.

And I really like Hiro's ability to freeze time, can't wait till he tries to freeze it and someone there doesn't freeze...,that'll be interesting.

Heroes is BY FAR one of THE best shows currently exsistant on the television. It places itself within the "elite-3" lineup on Monday night:

- Simpsons
- Prison Break
(Note that in between the break when Prison Break ends we run over to Beezer's house to catch the beggining of Heroes JUST IN TIME)
- Heroes

And can anyone give me an accurate count of how many heroes there are in this show? and why dont they just make a spin off for the Chinese guy?

My first thought when I watched the first episode was, prime time X-men clone. However there is a dynamic here that is very cool that I'm not sure I can pinpoint. I think there are two big differences that make this show different from X-men. One, the world in general knows nothing about these 'super humans' thus there is no 'Us' against 'Them' dynamic. Two, there is yet to be one person that draws all of these people together like Xavier does in X-men. There's another idea that I kind of overlooked, the show says these people suddenly discover they have powers. Why would they suddenly discover powers? Outside alien influence perhaps? There's this group of people "the glasses guy" that seems to know a lot about them, how does he? Whats with the nuclear explosion in NY? They really haven't done much about that yet. Can't wait for the next episode.

What I found wierd and a sorta hint to the NY explosion was the radioactive guy saying "maybe Id explode, maybe Id blow up this hospital, maybe Id blow up this whole city" so my guess into the future is that something happens and kills him causing the radioactivity in his body to explode.

It's funny catching up on this thread. My brother & I watch this show religiously and discuss it the following day. About 3 episodes in we were discussing which powers we'd each like to have. While I think we both agreed that Hiro's powers (time travel and stopping time) would be the most useful on a daily basis we also discussed flying etc.

About 15 minutes after we discussed it he emailed me saying - " you know flying would be cool but then your friends would want rides, then you'd ship your luggage someplace and have to fly the whole family to your vacation spot." I gave him an LOL to his reply.

10 minutes later he sends me "And you know you'd be the guy that always has to get ice or snacks when you run out at a party" "C'mon, it will take me 20 minutes to get there, you just got to fly." We closed by agreeing that even super powers have certain suck factor and aren't the answer to everything.

How about a twist, least desirable superpower, of the show.

I think the dual personality girl, if that really is a power (she is super hot!) Though something might come of of the character, I don't see where. Maybe she is the 'bad guy'?

The dual personality chick is probably the least deseriable.

Flying could be a problem (besides always being picked to get ice). If you are flying fast, going through rain or hail, it's going to hurt! Not to mention if you land wrong.

I dont know, Im just waiting for all of them to meet up. Because they didnt show the indian guy in the last one, I think that he will be more of focus in this one...and maybe realize that the Heroes are real!
