Server Ping

Post by [JiF]corn »

I just left a game of BF42.
The server was showing ping fluctuations from 92 to 522.
This was after i logged off.
I don't believe that would be normal, or does the ping reflect my location to the server and back?
I checked it through my xfire account.

Hmmm, some echo in these forums !

Corn, at the time, were you, or someone else in your household, downloading or uploading stuff from the same computer or another computer on the same internet access ? Major ping swings will occur when your bandwitdth gets choked, either by you or your internet service provider.

No one else on.
All of the background processes are all disabled when i play.(Norton,Logitech...etc.)

What's funny is that i can play BF2,TF2,BFV,COD2,DOD and not have these issues.
It got real bad on Guadalcanal map and it was not playable.
That's when i left the game to check out the Ping rate.
