Funny ways to get taken out

My all time favorite was a jeep kill. I was running from a Sherman in my trusty jeep. I rounded a corner hopped out of the jeep and dropped a mine. While I was dropping the mine, the jeep went up a hill, stopped and rolled back onto the mine killing me.

a long time ago i was flying a rocket on essen, got all turned around, ran out of fuel, and watched the rocket glide...straight onto the launcher killing me.

I swear to god you've never been killed like this before...

I think it was the midway map, i was in an sbd and took out 2 enemy landing craft with troops. I got shot down next to their carrier and made a swim for it. Right as i'm about to get to the climbing rope a landing craft drops right on my head as i'm swimming. Forgot if it was a human or a bot but i remember it was a registered kill. A BOAT FELL ON MAH HEAD!

I just remembered something unrelated that you guys newer to the game may not have tried.
Go up really really high in a plane and bail out. Do not open the chute, just fall and listen all the way to the ground.

If I remember correctly, only the russians fart on the way down.

On the RTR map whose name I always forget (big map, 6 caps, 2 airfields, and a river running through the whole map) I was in a tank trying to cross the first bridge on the south side of the river. Not sure if it was an italian or british tank. There were 3 tank traps blocking my way at the entrance to the bridge and I think I was going between the middle and right onw.

All of the sudden my tank dropped through the bridge. Not over the bridge but through the bridge. Like it wasn't there.

Needless to say I did not recover from my shock fast enough to manage to bail from my tank as it sunk in the river. I think that's the funniest way I've gotten taken out. Unless we're counting people in turbo jeeps jumping and hitting my plane as it took off on Wake. But I don't count that.

Oh and second funniest way I've been taken out was on Kursk. I was in a plane trying to stay under the AA which meant flying under bridges. When I came to bridge after the Y junction I ran head-on into a plane coming the other way doing the exact same thing. I laughed out loud on that one.

I got squashed by a Tiger tank on the after deck of the destroyer on Omaha before they fixed the 'Tiger glitch' on that map. you can Google it, the are still videos of Tiger tanks flying across the beach !

Now top that for a silly way of dying !

Grimp: And I thought I might be nuts, 'cause I had already asked other players during the game who could hear nothing. But yes, I think it's Salerno, and the tinny voice comes from the big oil tank on the left, when looking from the Axis base towards the centre hill. And somewhere on the left side of one of the bases on Baytown you can hear a cricket chirping.

It really hurts the team when you are parachuting on Husky and throw a grenade to kill someone on the ground, only to land on your own grenade and not kill the person you are throwing it at. Otherwise trying to nurse a wounded tank to a repair pad and nicking a fence and blowing yourself up sucks.....

Melon Farmer got me last night with a ricocheting motorbike that he drove into our spawn point. He drove right into the middle of the spawn point, jumped off and the bike kept going into a pile of sandbags that I was near. It bounced off the sandbags and landed on me.

Saw another weird one last night not really on being taken out, more on a program oddity... on one of the Road to Rome maps (I forget the name) I was on a bridge close to the train yard in a tank and LtCom Starbuck was driving at me in a jeep. When he bailed out, the jeep just sunk through the bridge. I'm not even sure if Starbuck noticed that or not.

A roving jeep packer usually gets a laugh out of me but they seem to be a rarity on the jif server.

I have shot a plane down at full chat with the main tank gun a few times, that's more satisfying than funny though.

And with a rickity moped I've notched up a few scalps and a couple of tanks. I don't bother trying to get out in time

More usually my own stupidity. E.g. The tanks about to get done by the panzerfaust so I get out - he gets in and shoots me after I find I have run out of nades... or someones left some expacks lying around - lets have a closer look...

Saw an excellent one on Wake the other day - plane was taking off, a few feet off the ground with an engineer hanging onto the prop - out comes a mine and BANG.

Tonight flying a Mustang I swooped in for a low level strafing run. Did not hit the ground but somehow got close enough to it to trigger a landmine. Boom! I saw all the mines on the road but had no idea I could be blown up by one flying over them.
