Never tried it and haven't played a racing game in ages, but it's free and has multi-player, so could be loads of fun. Has some good reviews about it on review sites too.

Edit: I downloaded it via steam and when I clicked to launch the game it didn't do anything. After a bit of digging on Steam forums found out I had to update my DirectX 9 s/w. I did that using this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... gDEw%3d%3d and now it works fine.

Just tried a couple single player, no opponent beginner races and it's well worth nabbing!

Free games are great especially one's of this quality. It's pretty fun and I haven't even tried multi-player yet. Plus it includes an editor component where you can build your own tracks. Multi even has ladder rankings. All in all, I'm amazed they are giving it out for free. Well worth the download. Guess since they have a Trackmania United Forever version that just came out (39.95) they figured to get more people interested in it by giving the previous version out for free. That graphics and racing are very good, IMO. Controls are just arrow keys and responsive. I imagine you could use another input like a pad or wheel if you were so inclined and had one available which I do not.

Still, just played single and am unlocking the courses as I go. Much fun to be had!
