Vista Issues

Post by WhiteLightning »

Hey guys, my name is Brandon, and I play under the name WhiteLightning. I'm EveryAvenue's good friend. Anyways...here's the problem. I installed bf1942 today, and everytime I load the game the main menu is messed up, and when I start the game I have no crosshairs...so It's pretty much impossible to play. I updated what appeared to be the newest drivers, and it still dosn't work. My graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce Go 6150 with up to 559 shared memory. Any help would me great, thanks.

I'm not running vista but I heard there is an Windows XP mode you can set it to run under and that might clear up your problem.

On a side note, how much ram does your system have?
You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Simple fix to your video issues, go to nVidia and download the latest driver for your card. I had the same problem when I migrated to Vista.

Also, on the shortcut for staring BF1942, go to properties and check the XP compatibility box.
It helps, but I still have a lot of crashes running BF1942 on Vista

Brick, you're still experiencing crashes in BF42 ? What rig are you playing on and what Vista do you have, 32 or 64 bit ? I have no issues whatsoever with BF42, BF2 or BF2142 anymore with Vista 32 bit.

I have that and my 1942 seems to go nuts every once in a while too. It just seems to die for no reason, I've downloaded all of the updates but some days its just a frustrator!

I had the same issue. Run it in XP mode, as Administrator. Right click the icon, properties, and you should see the options in there.

If you seem to die for no reasons that's probably because Brick is spawn camping with a tank from 100 miles and you do not have the time to read the chat saying that [JiF]Brick (Sherman - Panzer IV - Tiger - M10) kologik to oblivion !

I'm sure thats happened more then once!

My BF game every once in a while will just quit working. Goes back to windows and says "BF1942 has stopped working" It gets to be frustrating.
