I downloaded the Pirates and 1918 files, ran them but can't seem the find the maps on my server list.

As a newbie to modding, I'm probably missing a step. What else do you need to do?

When you open the game, on the right hand side, where the mods are listed, select 'ALL' so all the servers featuring all the mods will show up. Likewise, if you only want servers running a specific mod, select that mod and then hit the 'update' button and presto, only the RtR or SW or DC or Pirates or 1942 servers will show.

Hope that helps

if you are looking for srvers don't look at the names, look at the little symbols on the very left by the name of the server,
for pirates it is a skull and crossbones,
for 1918 it is an Iron Cross,
SW is a white X on blue background
finn wars is Red and White flag
EoD is a bullet hole
these servers are rarely populated tho :(
but if we could organise a time i'll try to be there to play...

I get crashes to desktop with both mods once the map tries to open. Oh well, guess I'll stick to the tried and true.

Reviving an old topic...

I wanted to give 1918 a try but am having the same issue as Stinky had above.

Anyone using this mod recently?

I play 1918 now and then and think it's a very good mod, no problems so far for me.
Maybe u got the map-files in wrong dir or "not map-files" in where it shouldn't be.

I self-installed, so I didn't even look at that.
I was going to download the final 3.0 version but the dl site was so far away that it would have taken 15 hours (!)

Oh well, I'll stick with Forgotten Hope2.

I had bf 1918 2.8 and downloaded 3.0, and had to uninstall 2.8 in order for 3.0 to work correctly.
Finn wars is okay, seems the tanks are had to drive.
Here are several download links.

I like fh but prefer Battlegroup 42 which is simmilar but less realistic so more enjoyable. I recommend Bg42 to everyone, you can get it in gamespy.
Where do I have to install 1918 so that the game recognises it? I installed it but it does not appear in the modded game menu

I really like the BF1918 and FH mods. Finding a FH server is a little tricky but finding a populated/working BF1918 server is almost impossible. Most of the BF1918 servers seem to be in Germany http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php?search=1918 but I've never seem anyone playing on them. ;(
