LCD/HDtvs

Post by [JiF]Stepovich »

We're about to splurge- looking at around 37"

Seems a reasonable size for the room it's going in.

Anyway, i've been looking at the Aquos series...anyone have an opinion on what to buy/look for?

Thanks!

I heard one of the prizes at the LAN party was a 37" Aquos LCD TV.

I recommend Vizio, I have one, my good friend has 2 of them in his house, and they are just awesome. Vizio's are probably the most affordable hdtv's and with out a doubt one of the best. About a month into owning it, the TV would freeze up when playing my Xbox 360, and make a very loud noise. I called Vizio, and 2 days later I had a guy in my house fixing it, and now it works perfect. They are equipped with an awesome warranty, as well as great quality. I only paid 500$ for a 32", and it's just flat out, a great TV. Circuit City wants $600 for my TV, but I got $100 off because I am a Comcast customer. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Vizio-32 ... tDetail.do
Hope this helps

Usually a good place to look to get info on particular sets.

Oh yeah, if the room has a lot of glare, go LCD. If not, plasma is the better choice.

My uncle, My brother, and My Brother friend all go big old plasmas and they said they were very impressed
by the plasmas. So if I were to recommend a tv I would go plasma...but that might not be in the budget?
