Just to Clear the Air...
Just to Clear the Air...
This is for anyone who was online around 3pm today (Sunday 1-27) when all the ridiculous map votes were going on. I was kicked for mapvoting. The only time that I issued a map vote was the first time that the map vote was issued. We were on one of the desert maps and Lonewolf said that he didn't like the map, I agreed, and then a 3rd person also expressed their dissatisfaction for the map, so I issued a map vote which failed. Then someone issued a map vote for Coral Sea, which passed and was the only vote that I voted "yes" for. After Coral Sea was over, someone kept doin mapvotes back to back and I PROMISE that it wasn't me. I have been playing on JiF's server for around 6 months now and the only time I go to a different server is when I want to play a CTF map. The last thing I want to do here is get people mad at me and get myself a bad reputation. So, I guess I did technically start the map votes, I do apologize and will never issue a map vote again so I can be sure that I am not in the same position I am now.

Re: Just to Clear the Air...
Rook,
Any what position might that be?
Don't sweat it. Don't think that it has shedded any bad light on ya or put you on our "blacklist"....heehee....
I wasnt on when this occured but believe me...u dont have anything to worry about....I've heard (and seen!) a heck of alot worse!!
Hope you continue to enjoy the server and dont be worried to initiate another map if it is truely need or wanted....

Hey Rook!
I've played with you before and I sure as heck don't remember you as the disruptive type. But I'm pretty sure I was on your body count list a number of times
Who kicked you? Was it a kick vote or an admin?
See ya out there

Re: Just to Clear the Air...
Lonewolf was the only admin on at the time and he was the one who kicked me. I mean I understand b/c it was ridiculous, there were like 8 votes back to back to back... but I only did the 1st one b/c 3 of us agreed that the map wasn't one we were too fond of. I was really mad at the time b/c it was like after I got kicked everyone just assumed it was me that was doin them back to back. After the 1 minute kick/ban, I got on and said I apologized for w/e I did and someone was like "that sounds like a confession" and it just went all through me. But I'm calm now, and I wasn't the only one kicked and am in no way blaming Lonewolf, I just didn't want all the blame and anger focused on me But like I said, I'm fine now, probably be playing again in the morning...lol

Re: Just to Clear the Air...
I'm glad that you took me up on the offer to discuss it here rather than during gameplay. Thank you. Yesterday the map voting was out of control to say the least. That was probably the worst that I'd ever experienced. We loaded about 8 times in a row. The amount of people playing dropped in half because they were quitting. I had to make a quick decision to make it stop, and I picked the two people who'd been talking about it (map voting). If you were not the one doing it, then I'm sorry for the inconvenience! It was only a kick, not permanent. It does nothing to your reputation here because it was in context to me trying to fish out who the trouble maker was. What's interesting is that the problem stopped right after the kicks. I'll assume it was that other player, or that I struck the fear in whoever was doing it. In the big picture there is nothing to be concerned about, you are not banned or anything like that, and no-one here is angry at you. Just a little extra load-time. Sorry for the trouble, see you on the battlefield!

Re: Just to Clear the Air...
Hey guys.. well im on Jif ALOT... with my schedule sometimes im off during weekdays when every1s at work. So i get alot of action. In the mornings to mid afternoon theres usually nobody on from jif, so there are alot of idiots using alot of vulgar namecalling and mapvoting ect. ect.... So i know what its like when ppl wont stop. Ive grown very fond of this server bcause for the most part that kinda stuff aint tolerated. And ur at least warned a few times b4 ur kicked off. I was playin last week and got griped by some1 that i havent seen in the forums bcause my capslock was on when i was chattin tellin ppl to quit with all the mapvoting. I ended up calling him a butt pube which may b immature but i can come up with alot worse names..... plus he was really startin to aggrivate anyway tonight 1/30/08 around 8:30pm there were alot of jif players on. It was great I really enjoy playin with u guys since i really dont have any friends round here(guess that explains y im n here al the time..lol) I was asked by pokpok if i ever sleep...So thanks to all for the server and hospatility . Until next time.....
