Story 'bout a WoW addict quitting

What's crazy is that more of these games are forming. DICE is slowly pushing the BF series towards this (it started with getting ranks that get you weapons and now it's moved on to all equipment). Blizzard might be the best but Guild Wars, Evercrack, etc. all have the same pull.

Nah. I don't think he can DJ.

Here's a slashdot post on it. Lots more stories like the one I posted to:

I have a lot of relatives that are alcoholics so I've always been afraid of letting anything control my life. In college I was playing cards a lot. I played hearts with two different groups with different rules. Whenever I felt like I was taking it too seriously I'd walk away from it for a while. I don't want any obsession controlling my life. When I ended my tour in Thailand I was drinking pretty heavily. I'd drink a six pack before dinner and then drink bourbon and water all evening. I got home and didn't touch a drop for 6 months. I needed to prove to myself that I didn't have to drink. There are so many things out there waiting to seduce you. It can be food, alcohol, porn, on-line gaming, gambling, etc. The secret is knowing when to get up and walk away before it destroys your life. I'm constantly evaluating things to determine if I need to set new boundaries to keep me from becoming a slave to something. I think the only battle I'm consistently losing is the battle against chocolate. :)

Tissue, have you addressed your addiction to breaking addictions? In a way you've become a slave to not becoming a slave.
