Hiho all - and greetings from Munich!
Hiho all - and greetings from Munich!
Well, after a fail in November, this time registering quite obviously worked (thanks Bison, btw...) - nice... So:
Hiho all!
And who's this lini? To make it short: 38 (soon 39... *sigh*), male, Bavarian, single, no children I'd be aware of. Up to now working in the computer business (first as freelance journalist, later on as emloyed editor, mostly doing hardware reviews and writing hardware-related articles for several German computer magazines (both print & online)), but considering a change - and privately mostly into computer gaming, hifi stuff, books...
Greetings from Munich!

Re: Hiho all - and greetings from Munich!
Welcome!
I was just in Munich this Summer on a backpacking trip. Started in Amsterdam, hit Cologne, went down the Rhine with a stop at St. Goar to see some ruins and onto Frankfurt (shoulda not even bothered to go through it yet alone spend a night). Spent 3 days Munich after Frankfurt. Most fun I had up to that point. The combination of women, beer, and history easily made it my favorite city and the one place I'd certainly like to return on my next Eurotrip. Fussen was a fun afternoon trip too and I considered that 'part' of Munich even though it's a decent train ride away. Didn't care for the white sausage but if I haven't mentioned the Pilsner and the women of Munich let me do so again.
Berlin followed with a better party scene, Prague felt a little more like an adventure, and finally hit Interlaken, Switzerland to go canyoning which really was pretty cool. That's what I'm doing on my avatar. Heard the Bavarian Alps have some good canyoning as well.
Nice playing with ya. Have fun on the server!

Yo Lini! It's about time! G:ad you made it in, I will stop harassing you now! lol!
Re: Hiho all - and greetings from Munich!
Hmmm, strange... I'm pretty sure I had already posted a lengthy reply (with a shorter part thanking Tissueman for the fast admin confirmation mail, and a longer part to Sly Gambit about Bavarian beer and Füssen/Allgäu) late last night, but it appears to have vanished... Did I write something inapproriate and it was deleted?
Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome on the forum, guys!

I have had a problem like that in the past by pressing the save button rather than the submit. If I had seen an in aproprate post I would hame sent you a pm telling you that I deleted or edited it and my reasons so there wouldn't be any questions.
oh and welcome.

Thinking about it, I suspect the preview button in my case...[JiF][AARP]Jimbo wrote:I have had a problem like that in the past by pressing the save button rather than the submit.
Good to know - and just what I'd have expected, as that seems to be common practice on all nice forums I've been yet...If I had seen an in aproprate post I would hame sent you a pm telling you that I deleted or edited it and my reasons so there wouldn't be any questions.
Thanks, nice to be in...oh and welcome.
Brick: Yup, I really enjoy playing on the JiF BF1942 server. Fun oriented without being overly anarchistic - that's very much to my liking.
Greetings from Munich!

Re: Hiho all - and greetings from Munich!
ahh guten tag, lini!! glad you stopped into the forums!!
glad we got some more of our European buddies dropping in!!
when I was in the army, I was stationed across Germany (mainly in Stuttgart) for nearly 2 years.
it's been a little while so my Deustche is very rusty, so if we're ever playing online together I'll probably be saying,
"ich verstehe nicht" quite often in chat....
LT
ps. Sly, that beer looks bigger than you!!!!! Sly's extent of the German language:
ein bier bitte...
zwei bier bitte...
drei bier bitte...
etc.
etc.....

Re: Hiho all - and greetings from Munich!
I know how to say thanks when they bring me my beer and excuse me when they were wakling by and I needed a new beer but I never learned how to write it.
I also could ask if they spoke English and most of the time they acted like I'm an idiot for asking.

Lini made it!
Glad you persisted and joined us in the forums. We've been playing for a long time together so this is a good way to see the person on the other side of the tag.
JiF has a lot of regulars from Germany so keep spreading the word Lini!
My habit is to let other players know when they share the same region since I find geography such a fascinating subject. So don't mind me when I interrupt your intense dogfight with news that Alfred E. Neumann lives down the street
Play ya soon Lini and glad you're here
